No need to return back to those 80s CD pressings of their catalogue with this 6 album comprehensive collection between 1979 and 1984.

I haven't recieved the album yet I just purchased it. I am unhappy that two songs that were really popular ballads, No Show and Stone Love, are not on any of the CD's, which kind of irritates and disappoints me. Those are 2 of my favorite songs and I don't know how on earth they would leave those off. Now, I have to purchase a separate cd set I don't need, to get these two songs. However there are so many songs on here that I absolutely love, that it's still worth getting this set, so don't hesitate to buy it. it has most of the really favorite good tunes on it, even though some are missing, which I don't understand at all, that were popular but not on here.

This show has a bunch of titles and covers, it's all the same show. It's not bad but the "Live in Chicago" and "The Very Best of - Live in Concert" are better recordings and have a better set list.

It might be the heat of our pandemic CV-19 summer, but this Kool collection is part of the solution. Unlike the cheap 3CD collections by artists such as Donna Summer, this box set is well done with an informative written essay about this iconic soul/funk/disco group. Not much funk here though. It's mostly the disco and ballad material we all love. My only disappointment is the lack of bonus extended mixes, but it's great to have the original albums in their full remastered glory. I didn't own the original albums, so other than the hits like Too Hot, Fresh, Steppin Out, the gorgeous Cherish, Celebration, the not so gorgeous Joanna, this compilation is an exciting voyage of discovery for me and I intend to get down on it!

Kool & the Gang are one of the top soul/funk bands ever. For the first time their entire catalogue of 5 albums produced during their "disco" mainstream hit period of the late 70s and early 80s are available in one 3 disc collection. All those disco hits are here alongside the the ballads. This is the first time I've sat down and listened to these albums in full and in chronological order since they were first released and it has been quite a revelation. The music holds up well 40 years later and of course the musicianship is first class. What becomes apparent on listening is just how great the tunes are. There is no filler across the 6 albums. No mean feat! The engineering and sound quality is first class. I can't believe I allowed myself to kinda put Kool & the Gang on the back burner in recent years. This really is a great collection and fantastic value for money. As the boys would say, Get down on it if you really want it!

Really Kool set of albums in one package, loads of classic tracks we all know and love plus you get to hear some great songs of theirs that you would miss the chance of listening too if it was not for artist album compilations like this. Don’t just buy a best of cd this offers so much more. I wish we had more compilations like this, Heatwave anyone, bring back the 70’s/80’s disco soul boogie of yesterday , those were the good old days.

Fantastic 3 CD collection from 6 Long Players from Kool and the Gang between 1979 and 1984 ( one each year ). I had all the vynils but this collection is better listening in my car. All the hits, even the other tracks are quality. No fillers. Suggestions : Love Festival, Stand up and sing, If you feel like dancing.For me the best disco-funk group, thanks to vocalist J.T.Taylor.
