Just what I needed
Ahhh! The wonderfulness of jelly season! You always end up with more than you need, or - sometimes you plan it that way for gifts. 2-part lids are a pain in the rump for anyone when it comes to closing a jar post-canning, but especially for non-canners. That’s when these lids shine. Before I give jars away, I take the ring off and put one of these in place over the original lid. When you open the jar, you now have an easy to use lid to reclose it for refrigerator storage. The lids are also invaluable for jars that are used for storage items (kitchen, hobbies, etc.). For your convenience, the lids are available in both regular and wide-mouth sizes. These lids have a great price point, so you won’t cringe when they go out the door ;) . Just remember: these lids don’t replace the metal lids and rings required during the canning process, but replace them after the item is opened. Have fun!

Keeps fermented food metal free
These fit my standard canning jars perfectly without leakage. I started doing fermenting and found the metal lids were corroding and could leave a metal taste in my fermented food. These plastic caps prevent that problem. Also, I can wash these in my dishwasher which insures all food particles are removed. I just purchased a freeze-dried food processor so I will need more of these as I will store that food in my glass bottles. Great product and money saver.

I tossed the annoying inserts and LIDS DON'T LEAK! Love!
When I first got these lids in the mail, I thought I'd made a big mistake. I was deeply disappointed at the insert that goes in them. It is a thin, flexibly stiff plastic disc. And it is a PAIN to dig out of the lids from below the threads. I have to get a butter knife to get a tip under the disc and lift it out. Also, even though the lids are dishwasher safe, of course the inserts have to be hand washed. What a royal pain. After struggling with the inserts for a bit, I finally decided to just toss them. I'd rather be careful not to let my jars leak than have to deal with the lids. To my excitement and amazement, the LIDS DON'T LEAK AT ALL--EVEN WITHOUT THE INSERTS! Hallelujah. Add that these are easy to clean and pretty cheap and this is an all-around win. BUY THESE. FYI, I bought these lids specifically for juicing. Because we have a slow, cold-press juicer, I can make a big batch of juices to last several days. Metal lids aren't good for juicing, as some juices can interact with the metal. Plus, the metal rusts and is a pain. PLUS, the separate lid-and-ring combo is annoying and messy. This sent me on the hunt for these babies. However, even though juicing and using these lids for liquids was my primary purpose, I actually use these on all my mason jars. I keep homemade spice mixtures (cheaper and I can eliminate those nasty chemical additives) in mason jars and these lids are so easy, clean-looking, easier to label, and seem to be airtight. I put my honey in mason jars. Well, I put lots of stuff in mason jars and these are just great. I will be interested to see if they work with my food saver jar attachment. I plan to update and add pictures.

So much better than canning lids...
Sooo much better than canning lids if you are not canning. Be aware the plastic insert needs removed when you clean it, or it will gather under the plastic. Just scoup them out and replace when cleaned. Fits all my jars different sizes, but not jumbo jars.

excellent
I store excess homemade soups, spaghetti sauce and other foods in pint mason jars in my refrigerator. Rather than using steel lids, which needed to be replaced every time, I had been saving peanut jar lids and using them. One day in curiosity, I checked out Amazon to see if I could buy the right sized plastic lids in quantity. It turned out that I could, and these are what I found. I have been using them for several years and have been very pleased. Since jars and lids that are to be stored in the refrigerator do not need to be sterilized, just washed, I have been using them over and over. Last month, having run low on pint mason jars, (some had been given away filled with soup or sauce to my friends and some had fallen on my concrete floor and broke.) I went out and bought a dozen more. Naturally, I immediately sent to Amazon for more plastic lids. Oh, you might be wondering what happened to the old peanut jar lids. I happened to have a lot of cacti on my windowsills planted in 21/2- or 3-inch pots. It is impossible to find pot saucers for these small pots. The smallest pot saucers are made for 4-inch pots. It turns out that plastic mason jar lids are perfect for these little pots. They easily fit on most windowsills and still leave room to open and close the window.

PERFECT
I’m not a fan of the two-piece tin lids that come with the Ball mason jars. I have a young toddler so jars are heavily used in our home. The two-piece lids have come to be a pain when all you want is to quickly open/close the jars and I curse the darned things under my breath each time. Some of them have even recently started to rust. I was pleased to learn these replacement lids were available and worked with the Ball jars. They are exactly what we need, they swiftly open/close (can be done with one hand, too!) and are very easy to rinse out.

Price jumped almost 20% in a week
Really liked the regular mouth mason jar lid for use in my business, but the price just jumped 20% in a week (from $10.99 to $12.75 per pack). Will have to find another product now. Too bad - I was ordering 6 packs every month. Not worth the extra expense per jar, and can’t get the company to explain why or if there might be other outlets to shop or a way to work w/ them. Unfortunate, as I would be happy to have negotiated an annual buy all at once.

These Lids/Liners Are Just What I Needed!
Really like these lids with the plastic insert. They were just what I was looking for. There are so many lids on the market and most of the options out there are cost prohibitive. These truly are leakproof, functional, practical and affordable. I topped my homemade yogurt with these lids. They fit the Ball canning jars perfectly. I know I will buy more of these in the future. I only wish they made these lids with plastic liners for the wide-mouth canning jars.
