This crushes ice better than anything else I've ever tried.
I have tried quite a number of different options to get simple "crushed" ice. Absolutely EVERY SINGLE THING that was "powered" that I have tried -- blenders, choppers, whatever -- resulted in "snow," not "crushed" ice. And there are a lot of other crank-handle ice crushers similar to this that really won't get the job done -- such as ones that don't have proper suction cups to secure them to a counter top. This is BY FAR the best and most reasonable option I have found to get crushed ice, given that I can't find a local source to "buy" it from, nor do I have a water supply on the side of my kitchen where the refrigerator goes, so getting a refrigerator that dispenses crushed ice is not an option. So, I'll have to do it myself -- by hand, with one of these. Will you break yours, if you get one? Well, that's not a "defect" with the product -- that's "operator error." "Just don't break yours." Easily said, but a bit more difficult to do. I have broken two of them, in a similar manner that you can see in some of the pictures -- those plastic "teeth" that the blades go through WILL break, if you force things too forcefully. So, "be careful," and just stop and turn the handle the other way, when a chunk of ice won't "break" given the moderate force you shouldn't exceed. I use rather small ice cubes, and after recently breaking my second unit, I'm trying some things like "letting the ice sit out for some amount of time to perhaps soften," before starting a crushing session. Still, even if you break one of these on a yearly basis, that's not an extreme expense, compared to most of the other alternatives -- alternatives that most likely won't work very well if it's "crushed ice" you want. And that's why I have given this five stars -- I have found NOTHING else that will yield properly crushed ice, short of perhaps some giant commercial thing that I wouldn't be able to fit on my kitchen countertops. This is a proper tool for the job. Just be careful with it, and wash it properly each time you've finished using it.

Fine not fine enough
Overall this does a good job. My only real peeve is the fine is too close to the course in size. I use it primarily for smoothies and protein shakes. Years ago I broke blades on my expensive blender when using ice cubes. I got an electric crusher which gave me perfectly sized ice that the blender handled without a problem. It finally died and since I just make a shake or smoothie maybe once a week I got this manual ice crusher. It does a good job I just think the fine could be slightly smaller in size. It is annoying when the blades hangup but that is a minor inconvenience. Hopefully I will get a couple years of service out of it which would make the purchase worthwhile.

It’s freakin’ great.
First of all, I’m not getting paid for this, nor I did get the product for free. I’ve had it for 6 months now. It works perfectly. It’s not a complicated product or unique. The crusher works perfectly fine. If the suction doesn’t stick, check that it is properly secured to the bottom of the device. There are tabs that hold it in place. It sucks to the counter like a Hoover vacuum. The crank is no big deal. If it sticks, turn it back and forth. No big deal. As ice pieces break, they may get briefly stuck. I always turn crank counterclockwise as i prefer larger bits for my cocktails. That said, there is a good size mix of crushed ice. Also, no rust in 6 months. I won’t subtract rating for what I think may be shortcomings in the future. That’s nuts. This was a great buy for me.

Good value, easy to use, and durable.
I'v had this ice crusher for 5 years old and it is still working fine. No electronics to break, just use a little elbow grease, and it works perfectly. I wish that everything else that I bought online worked half as well. Crushes the ice in no time at all, and takes surprisingly little strength.

It makes decent crushed ice, but it's a pain to use
I used to have a nice heavy metal one-piece ice crusher and apparently I didn't know just how good I had it. With that you just put ice in, cranked the handle, voila, no worries. This thing is light plastic and two pieces and it's a chore. Good: - It makes decent crushed ice, can't deny that. - Has option for finer (clockwise) or larger (counter-clockwise) chunks. Eh: - It will shed plastic slivers into your ice the first couple times. I suggest running a few sacrificial batches through, then it's no longer a problem. Bad: - The suction cup on the bottom is laughably fickle. I finally found a good routine, which is to run water over your hand and then wipe that water on a clean flat surface. Then turn the suction handle to straight up, place it on the surface, push the whole thing down hard while turning the suction handle counterclockwise. This usually makes a decent seal. - But then the top half of this isn't attached at all, so you still have to press down hard on it while grinding, so it's just easier to put the whole thing on a towel and use it without using the suction. I'm going to buy a sturdier model and use this for when I need a portable ice crusher - it'd be great for that.

Better and cheaper than pellet ice
I never write reviews for the trillion of things I've purchased on Amazon, but this was worthy!! Im obsessed with crunching on ice, and am a total ice snob. I was about 3 seconds away from buying an expensive ($300+) pellet ice machine. I didn't want a bulky machine on my counter top and I wanted something i could possibly have at home and another to take to work. The iceberg was perfect. Super easy to use, very little effort needed. And it cuts the ice into SHARDS so its super easy to chew. Even easier than pellet, bullet, or crushed ice. I used regular ice from my freezer, but i suggest purchasing the ARTLEO Ice Cube Tray with Lid ($15). The cube are PERFECT SIZE, and after i crush the entire tray, my crushed ice stores in the bin below so its always available. I easily saved $300 and counter space, by buying this instead of the pellet ice machine and its a 10 out of 10!!

Pretty expensive for such poor quality
**UPDATE Aug 25 2023** I have a suggestion for owners of this Ice Crusher. To make the ice crushing a little easier, I highly suggest after taking a cube of ice from the ice tray then BEFORE putting it into the crusher you should first for a split second run the ice cube under tap water. Doing this makes the ice cube crush up better and less stress on the crusher unit. Again, just a brief moment under the faucet of running water, AND THEN put the ice cube into the crusher. That really helps. (original Review) This was made so cheap and breakable I'm shocked at the price they ask for this. Out of the box you can tell this won't last long. The suction is good but the turn handle is very unstable and cheaply made. The entire thing is made of thin breakable plastic. 14.99 would be about right for what you get and the longevity you might expect out of this. Every time I use this I expect it to be my last time because to feels like it is about to break. Extremely fragile.

Works as it’s advertised
My “Iceberg” ice crusher was just delivered today and I’ve used it to nearly fill the plastic container. I’m 81 and have some slight problems with arthritis in the hands and wrists but this is not at all difficult to use. It does stop and start frequently while grinding the ice, but I just moved it backward and forward a time or two as the instructions say and it goes ahead grinding up the ice. If you’re looking for a perfect ice crusher without any effort on your part, then get an electric one for hundreds $$$. But if you’re just looking for an ice crusher for your iced drinks, this is perfect. I’ll update this as I use it more to comment on its durability and how long it lasts. But with a little gentle care and keeping it dry between uses, I’m expecting it to last as long as my old one did…5++ years.

Its a great tool for crushing ice !
The Suction is actually great and makes it much easier to use ! So far this has been fantastic and i highly recommend it ! It does need force to crush ice, so its not really smooth to crush but it is what I expected !
