MR277 Moisture Meter, MSX IR Camera & Hygrometer for Building Inspection

I like it very much. It’s durable. Has a nice sensor for what it’s designed. Easily finds leaks, moisture, insulation voids, etc. Took me five minutes to figure out how to transfer pictures from the camera to my I phone via Bluetooth. Remembered couple of reviews mentioning issue with them not uploading correctly. After playing with the camera for five minutes I realized that pictures transfer just fine. It just takes a minute for them to show up on your phone app. So I just submit pictures I choose, then wait a minute for all pictures to complete transfer and then open the FLIR app on my phone to share them. The camera shows completion of image transfer when it submits it, but the phone still needs a moment to receive it and upload it.

Great for finding leaks on hot water lines

So I bought 4 or 5 moisture meters. I sent all back but this one. We thought this was the easiest to use right out of the gate. Problem is, what I thought was a fluke, and a onetime thing, has turned into a repetitive issue. I will call the company for support and will change the review if anything changes. But there is a glitch in the software…I think. Because the screen stays on Flir most of the time and doesn’t let you use it because it’s stuck on that screen. The first time this happened either first or second time using, we thought we would just let battery die down as we do the iPhone when it glitches. And then recharge and everything is fixed. It worked the first time. Then didn’t use it for a couple of months and tried again and did the same thing. Third time out of the gate it was partially charged, so I plugged into charger for a few mins and pulled off and it worked for the task in the moment. And then turned it off and then tried using the next day, and the screen is stuck on Flir again. I plugged into charger, and again won’t let me turn on or off. And the screen stayed on Flir for the 2-3 days that it sat on the charger. Pulled it off and the screen is still stuck on tha screen. It won’t let you turn on or off, so I will have to completely drain the battery and try again. This was the most expensive meter I bought and kept it for the quality of it. But if the company doesn’t rectify this issue, that was a mistake! I will update review once I find out how they resolve.

This is great for my restoration company. I am very pleased.

It’s a good meter and very similar to the one I owned before, however my biggest complaint with this meter is the infrared camera. With the addition of MSX technology, this has resulted in Long lingering spots when changing fields of view for analysis. I find it much easier and faster to scan in the regular IR mode, and then only use the MSX to take pictures to better illustrate to clients what the area of concern might be. I must say for the money I am rather disappointed.

Very expensive for what it does.

This is amazing, it helped us detect a slow leak which we were not aware of. Worth the money!!

So much better than the 176 that I can't believe they would put one as bad as the 176 on the market

Unfortunately, I bought it without even realising it. That’s what you get when you’re not paying attention. Had to send it back, I’d like to have kept it but I don’t have that amount of cash to spare.
