Sturdy
This thing is a beast and it’s pretty sharp. I’ll never fight with it unless I have to defend myself. I’ll wear it to renaissance fairs . Use it for a conversation piece. I wanted something quality made but not break the bank. This was a wise choice for me. They say the steel they use in the replica made today is much better than the steel they used back in the Viking ages. So I know I got something bad ass. It does feel pretty heavy to me. I don’t know how much they are supposed to weigh. But like I said I’m not gonna fight with it. I believe if I was to swing it at someone that it would chop something off. It’s definitely not a toy. The sheath is leather and feels of good quality. You definitely get what you pay for with this sword.

Excellent!
This is a nice sword. It's sharp and look's just like an original would. But it is expensive!

Sword OK, but...
Sword OK for price but scabbard does not fit sword. Also, very little packing in shipping box and cross guard poking out of box when delivered. You spend hundreds on sword, yet they skimp on a buck's worth of packing material...For this reason alone, I can't give a good review to shipper.

Disappointing sword
All in all it is a nice sword unfortunately the tip is a little messed up which in my opinion is unacceptable for the amount of money you pay for it it looks like someone used a hand grind on it it is not symmetrical on each side and has scuff marks all over the tip very disappointed I do not have time to return it because I'm using it for a wedding so it's just going to have to do for now definitely would not buy again

Sturdy, beautiful, and comfortable in the hand.
I can't say enough about this item and the company. Shipped and received quickly. Did not have much interaction with the company, but no complaints otherwise. As far as the sword, it is worthy of wall hanging and going medieval on some watermelons, milk containers, would even consider home defense. Will add picture once I wall mount it.

This sword can take major abuse!
I bought this sword directly from the windlass website and received it within a week. Once I received the blade I started putting it through rigorous stress tests nearly everyday. While the edge could be more sharp it really has no problem cutting through milk jugs, fruit, and anything on the softer side. Then I decided to test it against more durable materials. I beat this blade against 2x4, 4x4, aluminum and tin cans, and finally hard plastics. The edge never rolled or chipped once. However, after time the cross guard became loose and started to rattle. After months of beating this sword against durable materials I finally managed to break it. The tang snapped right at the bottom of the cross guard which I believe is a result of the loose cross guard weakening the steel of the tang. Either way, I would highly recommend this sword. As long as you are not purposely trying to break it, like I was, It is a great budget option for a functional battle ready sword.
