Very well made...great product for the money

Amazon always wants you to rate the products you purchase. In this case, without extensive testing with expensive air quality equipment, actually measuring the true PPM or particulate size being emitted through this filter, all I can say is it fit the opening of my furnace air intake ducting and it looks good. So my unscientific rating is a five star, take it or leave it.

Great value for the money.

I've purchased my fair share of cheap air filters here, but these are borderline functional and certainly not worth saving a few bucks. I have four ceiling-mounted filter grilles that swing down. Many filters are smaller than the stated dimensions (think: nominal vs. actual lumber sizes), but the filter housing has tabs to hold the smaller filters in place. Unfortunately, these filters are even smaller than what the tabs can hold, so I had to hold them in place while I lifted the grille up and closed it.While that was annoying, the bigger annoyance was with my wall-mounted filter grille. I put one of these filters in, closed it up (while holding the filter in place), then went about my day. Later that night, I was watching TV in the nearby room and I heard a loud airflow/whistling noise coming from my A/C. I seriously thought something was wrong with the unit because I could hear it over the TV. I followed the noise and it was coming from the filter! I tried to adjust the filter and it lessened the noise ever so slightly, but it was still obviously there. Figuring the filter was the problem, I went to my local hardware store, bought a name-brand filter, installed it (without needing to hold it in place), and... no noise. I have to put my ear right up next to the filter to hear any airflow. And the name-brand filter I bought was a MERV 11, which should make MORE noise because it provides less airflow than these MERV 8 filters.Do yourself a favor: only buy these if you REALLY need to save a buck, have wall-mounted grilles, and don't mind noise coming from the filter. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
