This book has everything you need to create perfect seams and many projects! Tickled to death to find good boat motor pattern!!

I've bought all of the most popular canvas books out there, and this is the most comprehensive and informative. You'll find step by step instructions, but what's really useful is the construction techniques and project ideas in this book. They differ quite a bit from other books and YouTube videos. I tend to combine what is in this book with the ideas I've sourced elsewhere, and usually have results I am very happy with.However, the author assumes quite a bit of knowledge and experience. If you are completely brand new to working with canvas, the books by Grant (of Sailrite) and the YouTube videos from Sailrite will be a far more accessible entry-point. Finally, the price of this book is also the highest of any comparable book out there; while it is a large book with many pages, it is all black and white and there's a ton of white-space. I'd have preferred a slightly more efficient use of paper and a lower price tag.

I think you'd make a lot of mistakes before you got what she was talking about her diagrams are hard to follow. It's a pretty vast subject and she only cursorily touches much of the information.

I was recommended this book by a fellow cruiser. This book has surpassed my expectations. It is everything I need to help me plan projects from the patterns, the list of materials, and the description of how to get the project done. Great illustrations as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The book, which arrived promptly, comprises a comprehensive guide. Can comment in detail only on the awning section, which was the issue in hand. This provided every bit of practical advice we needed, and more. A scan of the rest of the book indicates similar support for almost any canvass application one could need.

Brilliant book for a beginner at sewing who wants to make things for the boat. I've been using it to learn to use my new sewing machine and I'm nearly ready to start on a winter of real projects. It is based around American products but these are available as European versions too - a bit of googling required...

Loaded with good data and lots of illustrations. If you only have one book on the topic this should be it. I only wish I had bought it before I bought all the other titles I have! 😉

Lots of well laid out information. Worth every dollar.

This book answers any question you may have. Very detailed. Can't live without it on the boat.
