I used this for homemade corned beef and the mixture smelled as it should! The quality was there in the size of the berries and the strong smell. They appear fresh.

Nice value for quality allspice berries
A quality bag of allspice berries—4 oz is a lot! I use these in simmer pots but you could grind them to have fresh ground all-spice if you wanted to. Inexpensive and nice taste/scent. A medium brown berry.
