As a user of the Sony G Master 24-70 2.8 and this lens, I would say this lens offers near the same image quality if not better in some cases. The Sony GM has more of a cooler tone to photos while the Sigma is warmer. The lens is tact sharp and a bargain at half the price of the Sony. This is not to say the Sony GM is not a bad lens, it is excellent in every aspect. However, for 95%+ of users, the Sigma is plenty of lens and you will not be disappointed by its performance, in fact I gravitate to the Sigma more so than the Sony. Auto focus is quick and accurate. Build quality is excellent and all Sigma lens are Made in Japan. If you’re deciding between this and the 24-70 Sony GM 24-70, get the Sigma at half the cost, you will not be disappointed. Extremely happy with this purchase and I should have gotten this lens sooner.

For 90% of people, forget the G master version of this lens. This sigma art 24-70 f2.8 is the one lens that will live on your camera most days for all situations of photography. I would recommend having variable ND filters to go along with this masterpiece lens (82mm filter size). The bokeh is creamy and corners stay sharp even shooting wide open. If you haven't had a solid quality full metal and glass lens it will take some getting used to with the weight, but it weighs less than the G master version. It is extremely good value for the money considering it performs just as good as the G master at less than half the cost. If you're on the edge of consideration on buying this lens, go for it, you won't be disappointed.

I'm a real estate photographer and shoot a little bit of everything when I'm not working. I did a lot of research on 24-70mm & 28-70mm lenses before deciding on this one. While it is cheaper than the Sony brand version, you would never know this isn't absolutely top of the line!For one, this lens is HEAVY. And while I have gotten wrist pain from lenses before (where your wrist braces!) it feels high quality and sturdy. You can easily tell the difference between this lens and a cheaper, plastic bodied one. It's also not too huge, since it expands when it zooms.The autofocus and manual focus are top notch. I've gotten sharp photos with this, even at the largest aperture. Also, I can (almost) shoot it all! What hasn't been said about this lens? It's sharp, great bokeh, fast to focus. It renders colours superbly. It has a very good range and the build quality is every bit as good as G Master. The only (slight) downside is that this, like all Sigma lenses, are built like tanks, this means that it's a little heavy. But I really can't recommend this enough, it's a stellar lens at a superb price.

Llevo unos meses con este lente y se convirtió en mi lente principal.La calidad del lente es excelente, tiene muy buena nitidez, el desenfoque que realiza se mira excelente, yo lo uso en mi sony alpha 6000. Solo lo he usado para fotografía, para video solo unas pequeñas pruebas y se mira muy bien tambienEl único inconveniente es que si es muy pesado, es cuestión de acostumbrarse, si el peso no es un problema para lo que ofrece, es un excelente lenteLa aberración cromática si está presente pero no es nada exagerado, sólo en apertura amplias y aun así no son problema

Olvídate del GM de Sony, por ese precio te compras este y un 35mm 1.4 y te sobra para una buena cena del taco!!! Mejor marca para objetivos con diferencia.
