TRUEdraw Lancing Device Each (Pack of 2)

This is the same item that came with my blood sugar testing kit. The one in the kit eventually stopped working. I bought an off brand. Big mistake. When this arrived, after using and it worked perfectly, I tossed the "off brand".

Lances are expensive. Your meter will last forever, it seems, but lances break down. TRUEdraw lances were the best buy, but, took time to see how they would function and last. After a good time testing I bought a second 2 pack. Not too expensive, works well and appear to be capable working for a quality amount of time. On an insulin pump and must test several times a day. Have a backup meter I never had to use and keep extra lances because you never know when the one you are using will die. For now this is my go to lances.

I've got to say that this product was just a bit of a surprise. I've been using the lancing devices of the sort that came with my One Touch Ultra glucose meter and these were fragile and given to failure especially around the screw on tip which broke easily when dropped. These new units on the other hand have no fragile plastic threads and few moving parts. Even better, they work with the same replaceable lancing needles so I didn't need to get a new prescription. Since they are sold in pairs I will always have a spare around although I doubt that breakage is likely. Let's hear it for simplicity!

The lightest setting is still too heavy to suit me. Otherwise, the lancing device is the best I have used. Very little effort was needed to activate the device and little effort needed to use.

I find I need spares, as I go through these lancers quickly. These are the real True Metrix brand version, not knockoffs. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommend.

Seem to last about 3 years of twice daily use.
