Honours of War: Wargames Rules for the Seven Years’ War (Osprey Wargames)

I have not played these rules. I started to read through them but I became discouraged, the game uses averaging dice, and I don't like averaging dice, all you can roll is 3 or 4. I understand the reasoning, but I think it takes away the excitement. I was disappointed. Not an easy game to pick up and play, but I must admit, due to the time period, I didn't expect it to be easy, or quick to play. From what I read it seems to favor Prussia. Some day we will give it a try, if I find this review to be incorrect at that time, I'll correct it.

This proved as useful as a reference as well as a game manual.

Great Simple rule system. Keep in mind they require average dice.

A nice wee fast playing set of rules for the SYW. There are a few glitches but these are remedied easily. They still give an aesthetically pleasing tabletop without cluttering it up with huge units. I find them really enjoyable to play. I would definitely recommend them.

Easy to read and understand would benefit from a play sheet of key rules otherwise might have got a 5.
