Really excellent label printer
I went back and forth trying to find and choose a label printer that would fit all of my needs as an IT professional. I wanted something that could print a wide range of labels, types, materials, and use cases. I also wanted it to have fast printing speeds, good quality print results, and be an overall workhorse. The BMP41 fits all of this and more. I am very pleased with this purchase and I'd recommend it for anyone needing more than a basic label printer.Pros:* Everything mentioned above.* Full QWERTY keyboard which makes manual label printing and typing much easier* Nice big LCD screen so you can see how your label will look before printing* A whole lot moreCons:No good review would be legit without mentioning some things that are of concern. That being said here are a few.* Labels are EXPENSIVE. There is no getting around this. These are proprietary labels and Brady is the ONLY manufacturer who makes them for their machines. You can't even buy 3rd party cartridges for this as far as I've seen and believe me I've looked. The 1" wide 25ft vinyl label ribbons I use are $50+. Given that these labels need to last a long time and be very sturdy I suppose I don't mind spending the extra money, but if you were thinking about using these labels for everyday labeling that would not be a good or cheap thing to do.* Cartridge locking mechanism. This was something I knew about before purchasing and its really more of an annoyance than anything. There is a sliding locking mechanism that locks the ribbon cartridge into place and also feeds the ribbon to the print head. If you leave this lever locked in between printing labels it puts a half circle impression on the label itself. What then happens in the next label you print has that impression in it which can cause the printing in that area to be messed up. You'd have to see an image of what I am talking about to understand this. It is a design flaw really that probably could be fixed by Brady but never was in this model. Since I either create many labels in a row using the Workstation software, or I only print 1 label at a time every so often, I get around this issue by simply leaving the cartridge lock unengaged when I am not printing. This would probably not be an idea situation for someone who needs to quickly print 1 time labels on a regular cadence, but again I knew this model had this issue before I bought it, so keep this in mind before you do.* Brady Workstation Software. This software is what you have to use in order to use the more advanced functions of the printer like if you want to create QR barecodes, import sequenced labels, etc. The software itself has it's share of bugs that are annoying but somewhat easy to navigate around. The real issue is it is extremely expensive to license. The free download will allow you to do many basic label jobs, but if you want functions like import from databases, excel/csv files, etc, you better be ready to pony up big dollars, and I mean hundreds and in some cases over a thousand to do this. All in all, its a great printer with a ton of capabilities. You only have to decide if what you will pay for these features is worth your capital investment in them. I took 1 star off of the review based on the cons I listed above, but maintain the other 4 stars because the printer really does do everything it says it can and does it well.

Decent label printer, but only 2 fonts, and jams a lot
I was very surprised that a $300 unit only has 2 fonts: Brady Fixed Width and Brady Alpine. Why no Times, Ariel, Courier? Not even Comic Sans, the best font for labeling data center cables. Even switching between the two included fonts is not as intuitive as you would think. But on the plus side, it's very easy to change font size and fit things neatly on the label. I like the Qwerty keyboard (the main reason I didn't buy the M210 instead was the goofy alphabet keyboard), print speed, and overall label quality.I've yet to try the included software. Maybe more fonts can be used by attaching it to a PC and loading the software (couldn't find this information anywhere), but I really bought it to use as a standalone. I may try it anyways at some point just out of curiosity. In any case, it's an overall good label printer. But 2 fonts? Seriously? I don't know if it would have cost them an extra $10-$20/unit to add more fonts, but I would have paid it.Update: after owning this for several months, I decided to update my review and drop a star for all the times it's jammed up on me. I imagine if you just use one cartridge and never change it until it runs out, you won't have much of a problem. But if you swap cartridges frequently, be prepared for it to jam on you...a lot. It's quite frustrating to hit print on a 5 inch label, see nothing come out, and realize it all just jammed up on the inside. I do always make sure the cartridge is full inserted and the lock switch is engaged. The problem I think comes from the subtle shift in tape position when you remove and insert a cart. On one instance I had to open the cartridge and reseal with superglue because it was unsalvagable otherwise. If this were a $50 label printer, I'd be more inclined to let it slide, but it's expensive and so are the cartridges.

good product, but just too large and hard to handle
we had been looking for a label maker replacement for a while and decided to give this one a try. When we got it, the case and device were impressive, but once i started to use it, it was just too large to handle. Also, the print tape that came with it, was HUGE. I couldn't imagine a practical usage for labels that large. Decided to return it and get another Rhino 5200, which just works great and is easy to work.

Nice, sturdy label printer. Basic interface. Could be better with affordable PC software.
Nice label printer. Was a bit bigger in size than I expected, but not unwieldy, though it is a bit heavy to hold for extended periods. Better to use it on a surface like a table. I'm disappointed that the PC software is so expensive as to make it unaffordable for non-businesses (just regular people, home use). So the only other way to use it is through the unit itself, which is pretty basic and slow-going to design labels. I was hoping the PC software would be affordable and allow more options (the PC software probably does allow more fonts and better, quicker layout possibilities). It would be nice if there was a watered down version of the software that was cheaper.(Any photos that show CD(s) with this starter kit are showing only USB printer drivers and user manuals. The PC label printing software - LabelMark - is NOT included.)What's nice is that there is a dizzying array of labels available for this printer. All sizes and media. There is little waste, though I have discovered that at the beginning of each label there is a little wrinkle in the label about 5/8" or so into the start of the label. You might be able to ignore this wrinkle. But if you want a nice, cleanly printed label, you might want to start at least that amount from the beginning of the tape and print many labels in succession, using scissors to cut them when done.

A real professional tool
This device prints continuous labels, asset tags, direct to heat shrink, laminated cable labels, panel tags, etc. Literally everything I could ask for. The custom software also works fairly well - im impressed by how much detail the printer can handle.

Buena compra
Buena impresora, solidez en su estructura, sin embargo tiene consumibles caros y difĂciles de encontrar.
