Our second rockstar Coredy vacuum! We LOVE it!!
The media could not be loaded. A little backstory to start… We’ve had the Coredy R650 for about 18 months now. It’s an incredible vacuum and it runs daily in our toddler-crazed, messy household. We explored getting a second one, as we have two levels to our house. Our second floor is all carpet and first floor is a mix of tile, wood floors, and a little bit of carpet. When we initially purchased the R650, we ordered it for our first floor, knowing it only had the capability to vacuum the floors. At the time, we did explore the other Coredy models that had the option to wash tile and hardwoods with an additional attachment, but ended up forgoing this feature. Now, happily the owner of a new Coredy R580, one of the newest models in the lineup, we decided to go with a unit that can also wash the floors with the extra attachment water tank and cloth mop.I’ll start by reviewing a few of the vacuuming and overall features of the R580 and comparing it to our original R650, which has made the big move to our second floor.1. Scheduling Feature: This is hands down the best feature, short of its ability to clean really, really well. We have our R650 scheduled each night at 1am when we’re all fast asleep and there are no little people chasing after it or trying to take a ride on our poor vacuum. (Yes, I’ve found our toddler “taking a ride” on Coredy… sigh). We’ve done the same auto time-setup with the new R580… but a nice perk over the R650 is that this vacuum can actually be controlled with your smartphone. And since we already had Alexa in our home with an Echo Speaker, we can tell the new R580 to take off and clean anytime we want. This is a nice feature, especially if you have little sticky fingers who like to steal the remote control.2. Amazing Results: So far the R580 has proven to be as effective if not more effective than our R650. The vacuuming power is incredible and every time I empty the dust bin, I’m continued to be amazed at how much it picks up. With that said, both the R650 and our new R580 do random cleaning patterns on AUTO, meaning it bounces around each room switching from ping ponging across to doing edge cleaning automatically. When we initially bought our first Coredy, I was a bit skeptical about how well it could clean with a random patter, but the dust bin is “proof in the pudding.” To those who are also skeptical and are looking at the more expensive versions that can do house mapping features, let me just say, don’t waste your money… both the R580 and R650 are incredible at getting dirt, grime, dust, hair, crumbs, boogers, etc. off the floors. For the specs nerds like myself, the new R580 has 2,000Pa suction power compared to our older version the R650 coming in at 1,600Pa. With that said, these are FAR above the capabilities of the infamous Roomba’s suction power at a weak 400Pa.3. Long Run Time: We have a Dyson stick vac that we use for spot treating messes, typically under the dinner table and the kitchen, and although it works well, we get between 15-20 min of run time. Not the Coredy… this thing runs, and runs, and runs, and runs. Like way over an hour… maybe even over 2 hours! I’ve woken up in the middle of the night at 3:00 am and it’s still running (we have ours set to AUTO Start at 1 am). I find it pretty incredible that after 18 months, our Coredy R650 is still running as it did out of the box. I don’t see why the new R580 would be any different. This just showed the quality of the Coredy products.4. Pretty Darn Quiet: None of us in our house have woken up due to Coredy cleaning… it’s pretty darn quiet. If I had to guess, it’s like a dishwasher running, and not a loud dishwasher, a fancy quiet one.5. Rarely Gets Stuck: If the vac does get stuck, it will beep a little bit, but we all shut our bedroom doors at night, so we don’t typically find a stuck Coredy until the morning. And on that note, both models we have don’t get stuck very often or at all. Typically it finds itself out of a pickle, but if we happen to leave a phone cord on the ground or we accidentally flipped up the door mat in haste, it can get tripped up. When we first got our R650, Coredy often gravitated to all our cords like lamps, computer, phone chargers, TV, etc. and got stuck a little too much. But since then we’ve gotten smart and we have zip tied the excess cord on about everything in the house that is not moving, eg. TV, lamps, etc. and now both Coredy’s rarely, if ever get held up.Onto the floor mopping feature… This maybe the most relevant part of my review of the Coredy R580, as we’ve never experienced this with our R650. When we ordered the new vac, I also ordered the Floor mopping kit, which is the Water Tank Reservoir and Cloth Pad. It doesn’t come with the R580, nor does it come with any of the other Coredy floor mopping compatible models, I believe. It’s not overly pricey, but I do wish it came with it. None the less, I noticed that not many people talk about this feature on any of the Coredy compatible vacs… perhaps they just don’t use this feature, but with all of the hard floors we have, I was very intrigued in getting my floors squeaky clean.1. If you have used a Swifter Wet Jet, it’s basically that in a nut shell with a washable pad. It doesn’t use the vacuum feature at all when it’s running in Floor Mopping Mode. The entire dust bin comes out and you replace it with a water tank that has a microfiber looking pad that Velcro’s to the bottom of the tank.2. We put a little cleaner in with the water. Just a teaspoon of Mr. Clean multi-surface cleaner, to not only help disinfect, but also to help get the dirt up a bit better. Well, just like on vacuum mode, it does a random pattern around our tile, and continues to amaze me how dirty the pad is when it’s done. (I’ve attached some photos of before and after.)3. It doesn’t know how to tell the difference between carpet and tile, so you have to block off carpet. The easiest way we’ve found is to use the magnetic strips to block off our carpeted family room, since there isn’t a door to close. I’ve thought about pulling the carpet back a little from the tack strips and putting the magnet under the carpet and then pushing the carpet back down, but I haven’t done that yet. I’m not sure if the magnet would be strong enough to get through the carpet and register with Coredy’s sensors, but it’s my next trial and error. That would also mean though, I would need to manually put Coredy into the family room when I want him to vacuum the carpet. Back to my third point, you need to block off carpet. I saw online some people will put a box or something else in-front of a doorway when they want to block it, which would work fine, but we’d rather just deal with a little magnetic strip as our openings to the family room are two very large (5’ wide and 6’ wide) spots to block.4. It does do a good job mopping. Like I started with, it works like a Swifter Wet Jet… It’s not really not a scrubber (and it doesn’t claim to be either) or won’t do as good as old school manual labor your hand and knees, but show me a machine that actually does and I’ll be truly impressed. You need to think of this Mopping Feature of more like a maintenance cleaner — it wipes up the accumulation of grime on the surface of the tile between your old school cleanings. It defiantly makes the floors much cleaner between your old school scrubs. In my review, it may seem like I’m a sales person for Coredy, but I can promise I do not work for them! I’m just a really big fan, perhaps a Coredy nut. I apologize for my lengthy review, but when I feel passionate about a product, I feel the need to properly review it in full detail. All in all, our “Coredies” have changed our busy, crazy, life for the better keeping our house floor cleans. We highly recommend this vacuum!

This really sucks...in a good way!!
This product was surprisingly good. It was pretty easy to set up and get started. Everything came in the packaging safe and clean. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical at first, but after my first run, I was more impressed. The first thing I noticed was how strong the suction was. There are multiple modes of vacuuming, max which has the strongest suction to a more silent mode which will do some light cleaning. This robot vacuum does have an app that is pretty intuitive. The odd-ball scheduling, on a day-to-day basis, was nice for me so that it could clean when I was scheduled to be out of the house or in my home office. I have medium-sized dogs who shed and bring in dirt often. For that purpose, I am able to schedule multiple times throughout the day.One learning opportunity was not to solely rely on the app. There is also a remote control that comes with the robot vacuum that you'll want to set the clock on so it can communicate with the vacuum that all is set up. If you're a strong app-user (scheduling or manual user), when the remote is set, you can put it on the dock to store until needed in it the future.I also noticed this robot vacuum moves pretty fast, which means cleaning up more areas quicker. The vacuum will run until the battery starts getting low and then will send itself home (charging docking station). I noticed that it didn't run into many walls and doors. The sensor has a pretty good distance. However, if you do want the perimeter of the room cleaned, there is an 'edge' option.I can state that the robot vacuum does work well on both carpet and laminate flooring. It does pick up dog hair and dust quite well. In the US state where I live, we tend to have plenty of dust to be picked up. As the mopping accessories aren't included, they are pretty reasonably priced. I look forward to trying the mopping feature.Based on what I've seen so far, would I recommend this robot vacuum? Absolutely! I have an older model that we've had for nearly a year and have had no problems with that Coredy Robot vacuum.

Pretty good so far.
I bought this model because I wanted something that would be slim enough to vacuum under my couches. One hick-up, it fits under my couch from the front but not the back. This model had the most features and the strongest suction of the "slims". (I did read that people have had customer service issues with Coredy, which made me nervous- hopefully we won't need service.) I do like the mopping feature- I know it's not doing an amazing mopping job but it's decent. I would recommend getting an extra pad for the mop attachment. This vacuum is wifi enabled has an app you can download, which I really like. Super easy to program. I hate the randomness of this level of robot vacuums but unless you want to bump up to the next price point they all operate similarly, and non of the more expensive models will be slim enough to fit under low profile furniture. . My only other complaint so far would be that it takes a long time to recharge (not sure how it compares to others) Note- I'm using mine exclusively on wood and tile. It does not do a good job on my carpets. When I bought this vacuum it only had 37 reviews on Amazon and it was not listed on the Coredy website. I think it must be a newer model for them. I bought it even though it didn't have many reviews thinking I could return to amazon if it was terrible. So far, we've been happy.Update- 2mo in-Love it. I haven't had to sweep since I bought this baby. What's not to love.
