Great router for experienced people.
I bought this router because I needed a small router with more than four ports and the sfp+ cage. It has a lot of features that can get you into trouble if you don't know what you are doing. The software that runs on this router is called RouterOS and runs on all of the Mikrotik hardware. There are a lot of videos on YouTube explaining how the router works. I have reset the router at least 10 times due to my inexperience with all of the features. Luckily there is a Quick Set application that automatically runs when connecting to it with an android phone which sets the router up as more of a consumer grade device. The android application also lets you connect by MAC address which comes in handy when you hose up your ip configuration. it also has a web config that is accessible from you browser. This router is for you if you are experienced with networking or want to get out of your comfort zone and learn something new. The wifi works great and I can't wait to explore more features in the future.

very powerful
I spent several frustrating hours reading reviews of the dozens of routers on Amazon. They all seemed to have a measure of problems I did not want. Then I read a review of a dissatisfied buyer of one router who said he was going to return it and look at MikroTik. That piqued my curiosity and I researched it and found no customer reviews but several professional reviews, all of them very positive, so I bit the bullet and ordered one. It arrived nicely packed and when I opened the box I found the router, a mains cord and a power supply adapter. It is supposed to be mounted vertically screwed to the wall with some supplied brackets, but I did not get them and did not need them, so no problem there. I ripped the wires out of the Asus router which had nearly driven me insane, and plugged the modem into ch1 and the other Lan wires into 6,7,8,and 9 of the 10 Lan sockets available. Now for the interesting bit. I powered it up and immediately saw the usual green lights flashing indicating data was travelling, so I went to my computer on the Lan, but it indicated no network connection. I went and looked at the router again the check I had put the wires in the right sockets, then I checked the manual. All should have been good. I went back to the computer and I was now on the network, but no internet. Shades of the Asus router here. I went back to the router and reset the modem, returned to the computer behold, I was on the net. Speed test showed me I was back to my usual 230 megs. Now it was time to set it up for the WiFi. The manual told me the IP address of the router and I logged in, set the network name to the old one, and used the same password so I did not have to reprogram all the devices in my house. I went to the one item that the Asus router kept working, but it could not connect to the internet. Meanwhile I noticed that a graph of signal strength of a device ( only identified by its MAC number ) was increasing and when it had gone to the maximum it told me what the signal strength of that device was. Then it started on another one. I went around all my devices and turned them on, only one worked at first. Gradually all the devices came on. It seems that the system is learning as it gets used. I checked my laptop in my living room. 3mb/s very disappointing. When I looked at the wifi settings I noticed a bunch of others from some of the repeaters I had all over the room. I unplugged the and now I was up to 60mb/s. The first device to turn on was an Alexa in my workshop, so I unplugged it and took it to the other end of the house, where I had never had a wifi signal no matter how many repeaters I had. It worked. The longer I left devices on, the better they worked. It was as if the router was learning where to concentrate the signal. If I tell you my house is 7000 sq ft and I have a very strong signal everywhere, you can understand just how impressive this unsung device is. You dont need meshes or repeaters or even AP.s I do have to say this thing has a lot of features and things to adjust that I dont understand. I just set it up as I would any other router and it works and works well. If you are fed up with the run of the mill routers leaving you with dead spots I can unreservedly recommend this router in fact I recommend ti anyway, its brilliant, just be patient on setting up and let it do its job.

Magnífico Router Board MikroTik actualitzable a Router OS última versión 7.x.
