Control Control Control
My old stove leaked like a sieve and chewed thru the wood. This Columbia II is awesome! I have a damper in the flue pipe. Between the one on the stove and the one on the pipe, I can control the burn rate and output with precision. 6-8 hour burn times easily achieved. For the size its a beast. it's nick name is the Canuck eh! Very good looking as well. Could fit a couple large skillets on the top if you needed to cook in an emergency.

Door is badly fitted and hard to open/close
Purchased on the basis of reputation and review. Would never buy again. The stove it replaced was half the price and twice the stove. Meant as the primary heat source for a 900 sq ft house and is quite capable of heating it so far. Pretty to look at. Have tried to contact the manufacturer without success.

Well made works good
Its a smaller stove and it works perfect to heat a smaller house or cabin. Bad reviews based on how small it is are foolish do research and know what you are buying lol. This thing heats my small lofted 800 square foot cabin perfectly. If I load it up before bed and close it down it has coals left in morn. My small house is perfect all night not to hot, perfect for sleeping. If I open up the airflow it warms the place as warm as I can stand and then some. Very good product for this type of application. I have no need for any other heat source while this stove is running.

Only 3 small 4” x 16 fit into the opening
I have to get on my knees to put in the logs. It only accommodates three small 4-5” wide logs at a time. Ashes come out the opening and fall onto the small hearth-like structure when trying to load more fuel. The opening is 8” X 11.5, about the size of a legal envelope. I hate with a capital HATE this stove. I wish I had been told more about it by the chimney sweep/installer/seller of this stove. I will probably have to buy a different stove and will have wasted the $3766.25 I spent for the stove, pipes and chimney. HATE this stove.

Love it!!!
Love this stove. Got the screen to go with it which is also and excellent buy. We have a smaller (1000sq ft) ranch style house on a lake, in the woods, at an elevation of 1720 FT in the North East. It gets cold and windy during the winter. This stove is more than sufficient to heat the house up nice. The only thing I didn’t like was having to carry this beast up the drive then the walk way into the house :) but all good now!
