Mont Marte Premium Gesso Universal Primer 64oz (1.89L), Suitable for Acrylic Paint, Oil Paint, Color Pencils, Pastels, Graphite and Charcoal

I originally was looking for Gesso by a Brand name company but all of those were either sold out or in too big of a size. Then I found this. I have never heard of Mont Marte before (maybe it has been around long?). And so after thinking about it and reading reviews I chose to buy it. Right size, right price. I am truly suprised at how good this Gesso is. The best part no bad smell. I feel it will last a long time due to size and that you don't really need to use a huge amount. The quality is great to me. And ease of use total A from me. I do prefer bottles but this jar will suit my needs perfectly.

It’s good and thick. Only one coat is usually needed. Dries quickly.

Fantastic old school gesso. Its not thick, because non acrylic based gesso isn't supposed to be! I have 6 coats of this on my newly prepped Lancaster, with sanding between each.. smooth as silk! Thank you. Worth the $$ .

This stuff is beautiful. Creamy and covers in one coat. I will definitely buy it again. Very happy with this purchase.

I had said this was a nice Gesso, but hadn't actually tried using it because I wanted to finish using another product. Well now that I have used it I must revise my earlier opinion. This gesso does not cover previously painted areas well. I applied 3 heavy coats and I can still plainly see the color beneath it.
