Visualization Power: How Scientists, Inventors, Businessmen, Artists, Athletes, Healers and Yogis Can Improve Their Powers of Visualization and Visual Thinking

The answers I have been looking for.
This is my fantasy book on visualization. The author seems to have read everything on the subject, pulled the most relevant exercises to get you started, and included more information on the hows and whys than I have been able to find anywhere else. All the critical information I was missing to “make it make sense” is in this book. And even better, he refers to his sources and recommendations frequently throughout the text, making it so easy to find more information if you are interested. The exercises he suggests are exactly what I needed. Typical visualization exercises start with instructions on how your visualization would look if you were already an expert at it. He assumes no prior skill and starts you from the very beginning. He then discusses many different possible applications that I had never even thought of. He gets into goal setting (what brought me here) and then goes back again into more practices.I really believe the only reason this isn’t a best seller is because it hasn’t been truly discovered yet. The number of sources I have had to weed through to get here was really discouraging. And interesting to me, most were not mentioned here. There were many other texts I am familiar with because I am also on the path, but also many more from many different disciplines that intrigued me.The size of the book is deceptive. The amount of information in here is a ton. My attention is captured.

Inspiring
This was full of the kinds of useful information about mental practices I have been wanting to pursue since I was young. The sheer number of examples and practice tips bring the ineffable genius of the greats into attainable goals for the rest of us. I have meditated before but never applied the concentration I have this way and find it very powerful and am seeing progress very quickly. The chapter targeted towards inventors/scientists was a personal favorite of mine, though the entire book was very good.

This is a pamphlet, not a book
The pamphlet was a general overview of the "value" of visualization. It gave examples of different athlete's use of visualization. But it really didn't get into any depth on actual visualization techniques.

How, why and what to practice to get results
This is a short book for its price, but it's packed with information on how visualize and concentrate. The information is usable (I've done some of this myself, though far from all). There is also a good explanation for how and why visualization works and what to visualize if you're looking for specific results (sports, business, spirituality, etc...)And, personally, as someone who's done a lot of meditation, I have found visualization exercises to be really fun.
