Genius Speed Slicer Plus

I purchased The Genius Speed Slicer Plus on June 21, and absolutely love it. I went to YouTube and watched a variety of videos demonstrating the Genius Speed Slicer Plus that was avertised on a TV shopping network. The one I received from Amazon did the exact same thing so I'm confident that it's the same mandoline. It is very sharp and does every thing the advertisement says it will do. There are 8 slicing thicknesses and I really like that I have control over changing the slicing thickness without without having to change blades. I was worried about cleaning it but I found that there are two little tabs beneath the julienne dial on the bottom of the slicer and all you have to do is pinch in each side to release the julienne blades, so that you can open it and clean the underside of the mandoline. Just let hot water run over it and use a small brush to get any food from the crevices then close it and push the little tabs outward. The tabs are a delicate plastic so make sure to run cold water over them to stiffen them before pulling or pushing them in or out. If they do pop out just gently push them back into their slots and they are good to go.The only reason I gave this a 4 star review is because I believed the heading of the advertisement is misleading. It says various colors so I thought I would have a choice of colors and when I didn't see a check off for me to choose a color, I thought I would get the green one that was displayed. I was very disappointed to receive a white one. I already had an excellent white one but it stained very easily and I wanted a green one to match my other kitchen accessories and figured it wouldn't show the stains as vividly. I am very satisfied so far with the Genius Speed Slicer Plus mandolin. The storage container, metal stand, hopper for chopping and slicing small vegetables and the storage guard to prevent you from accidentally cutting yourself when placing or removing it from storage made it worth keeping.

This is the second one I’ve had to buy because my son took my 10 year old one to his pizza restaurant he owns. After I used it in my home kitchen for about 10 years, he “borrowed it” for his restaurant and it is still going strong!

I like this slicer and ordered two. It makes preparing vegetables so easy. Just takes a few minutes to slice up zucchini ,cabbage, onions, fruit. It is a great time saver. I absolutely recommend that you also get the CUT RESISTANT GLOVES, Amazon sells them too. After I cut my finger with another slicer last year, I learned about cut resistant gloves and wear them every time I use the slicer now. The gloves saved me from getting cut again and I am able to go much faster with them. So worth it and they really work! I slice vegetables thin and use them instead of pasta with tomato sauce. Bought one for my daughter so I can keep mine home. I hope they keep making the slicers because it is a favorite and easy to use.

This is the greatest Mandolin! I use it almost every day and it works great.Opening the blade could have been explained a little better, took me a while to figure that out but once I did then cleaning was easy.I have bought this for myself and two as gifts. Super sharp, don't cut yourself, but this is my favorite slicer. I have owned two others and the safety precautions were so extreme that they were really useless. With this one you need to take a bit of care on your own, but wow, you will love the results.
