“Lemon Pies and Little White Lies” is the wonderfully done fourth book in Ellery Adams’ delightful Charmed Pie ...
Ella Mae LeFaye misses her boyfriend Hugh Dylan but she has to put her longing for him aside as she is not only busy running the Charmed Pie Shoppe but planning Havenwood's Founders Day Celebration. She is also The Clover Queen, which means she is responsible for the safety of the many magical people living in Havenwood. When there are a series of murders in Havenwood and a symbol meant for Ella Mae is left behind at each one, she knows she has to find and stop the killer. Doing so will take every bit of magic she has and change her life forever.“Lemon Pies and Little White Lies” is the wonderfully done fourth book in Ellery Adams’ delightful Charmed Pie Shoppe cozy mystery series. This series is a nice blend of love, magic, and mystery with a touch of sadness and this book is no different. By now Ella Mae, her family, friends, and residents of Havenwood seem like old friends but don't get too comfortable - Adams has plenty of tricks up her sleeve. The plot of this book is a particularly strong one - not the murders but a series of storms that spells danger Ella Mae. Adams does a wonderful job of building up the suspense in the book that leads to an almost inevitable showdown but again she works her magic and the ending is nothing like I expected. Adams has ended other books in the series on a cliffhanger and does it again with this one - I just wish we didn't have to wait so long for the next book to see what happens to Ella Mae and the rest of the gang!“Lemon Pies and Little White Lies” is another charming cozy mystery by Ellery Adams.

Another riveting read from Ellery Adams
Ella Mae LeFaye has a lot going on in her life – she’s deeply involved in Havenwood, Georgia’s Founder’s Day Celebration and is settling into her leadership role in her magical community, and mourning the possibly temporary loss of her boyfriend, Hugh, who has gone on walkabout trying to recapture his magical powers, all the while operating the madly popular Charmed Pie Shoppe. Mysterious deaths with a common theme start occurring in Havenwood, and clues at the scenes may link back to Ella Mae.I love this series. The magic elements do require a suspension of disbelief, but it’s so well-written (I can just smell the pies Ella Mae creates) and the characters so compelling (I’m enjoying watching Ella Mae grow into her power and authority) that the magic seems … normal. There’s a storm coming – literally – and it’s headed straight for Ella Mae and her family. She’s worried about what the storm will do to her town – muggle and magical alike – and she will have to make some hard choices to protect her people and their way of life. One of the things I particularly like about this series is, there’s a “right” ending and a “true” ending and the author always chooses the “true” ending. It might not be the happy-hearts-and-flowers ending I usually want for my favorite characters, but it’s the right one, the one that makes the stories ring true and resonate for me. I have become deeply attached to Ella Mae, and this fourth book just increased my affection for her. These books are so good, I buy them in paperback.

Another great book from Ellery Adams
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Ella Mae and her family and friends do not disappoint in the 4th installment of the "Charmed Pie Shoppe Mysteries." The struggle for love and doing what is right proves to be challenging for Ella Mae. Strange deaths occur and Ella Mae has to figure out who is behind these mysterious deaths and why they are doing them. Ella Mae has another male that may be vying for her love in the future (Finn Mercer, who comes to Havenwood after his mother's mysterious death and decides to make Havenwood his home) , this will be something to watch for in future installments of "A Charmed Pie Shoppe Mysteries." Ella Mae is getting use to her leadership role in their community and coordinates the first ever "History in the Baking" contest that will bring those of her kind all in one place and possibly help her defeat a very evil nemesis "Nimue." Nimue is the one behind all the destruction caused by massive storms that have wiped out groves all over the world, while Nimue is in search of a way to get all of Ella Mae's power. PeopleElla Mae has trusted are actually indebted to Nimue and are the ones causing the mysterious happenings in Havenwood and the murders. Ella Mae risks it all to save the ones she loves. If you are a fan of Ellery Adams then you will not be disappointed and if you never have read her works, I recommend that you do. Where else can you get a quaint little town, love, romance and mysterious happenings all in one place.

Epic and Dramatic
The thing that makes Ellery Adams’ Charmed Pie Shop series so darn good is the ongoing character growth and development. LEMON PIES AND LITTLE WHITE LIES continues the ongoing love/not love relationship between Ella Mae and Hugh, both dealing with their magical powers, as well as the mostly acrimonious interactions between the Le Faye and Garner families, enemies due to an ancient curse. In this installment, a powerful and angry witch named Nimue is wreaking havoc in the form of terrible storms in the British Isles as well as the Eastern American Coast. She’s also challenging Ella Mae as the rightful Clover Queen. The story is a tale of good versus evil painted in the mellow tones of its cozy genre. Why was an innocent woman murdered in her bathtub? Why was Ella’s Aunt Dee trapped inside her burning barn? Will Hugh come back to Ella? Will he regain his water elemental powers? Will anyone find and use King Arthur’s sword? Will Ella triumph over Nimue? What will be the consequences of all this magic? Those questions kept me reading at a frantic pace as this epic and dramatic adventure played out.

Combo of Harry Potter and Stephanie Plum between the numbers.
I read the whole series. This series is kind of a combo of Harry Potter and Stephanie Plum between the numbers. Which includes magical characters. It was definitely readable, but I was looking for mystery not magic.

Not sure about the ending...
Not sure I am entirely happy with the ending; however, I am sure that will be addressed in a future book. Other than that, a very enjoyable read.
