Heavy-Duty Bolt & Drill Bit Index Gauge 1/16 to 1/2 Inch by 1/64ths

I'm not going to return this product because it costs more for postage than the price of the item. As others have observed, the holes are somewhat smaller than the sizes indicated, maybe due to the thickness of the paint. Here's a workaround I'm using: take the drill bit you want to measure and find the largest hole it will fit through. The correct size of that bit, therefore, is that of the next largest hole on the card. In other words, say for example, the largest hole that drill bit fits through is labeled 31/64". If so, you have a 1/2" bit, even though the bit won't fit through the 1/2" hole. It's a pain in the neck and, frankly, prone to error (I marked mine to remind me of the need to "measure up" to the next size), but it justifies keeping it in the shop and out of the trash can. For now anyway.

Bought this to replace a plastic gauge I had. The plastic gauge was flimsy, and no longer accurate, due to wear thru use. The numbers were especially difficult to make out. This gauge is much heavier duty, appears to be accurate, and the embossed legend should remain legible for a long time.

There's not too much you can say about a drill gauge, but this one is well laid out and well constructed. The black painted finish and light colored lettering gives good contrast for viewing and the fact that they also give the decimal equivalent is an added plus.

Seems like a quality unit. Metal is thick enough and strong enough. It measures, what else can be said.

Exactly what I needed! I keep breaking my flimsy plastic ones. This one is super solid and I can tell I'll have it forever, so long as the kids don't misplace it.
