I was blown away by how easy this was to mold. Compared to my previous mouthguards that claim to be microwaveable (which never works as well as boiling) and require you to get it right the first time (even when they claim you can remold them), this super thin piece of mystery material was so much less stressful! Don’t overthink this one, just get it and don’t bother with other brands that claim to be easy…I can tell you that I now know there is a better option. The first thing I liked about it is that it uses water that is slightly below boiling and requires no tray, which means you can easily use an electric kettle or a microwave and a small bowl, and if you mess up, you just put it back in the hot water and it reverts to the exact same form it started it. You can dip just one portion in the hot water if you need to fix it or do a quick dip to make it more pliable if it cools before you are done. I ended up redoing it 3 times to make sure it was just the way I like it and it went back to completely flat and unmarked each time. Compared to the “boil and bite” ones that require a tray, it was significantly less stressful to bite down on this because there are no pockets of boiling water in a tray to worry about and you know you have more than once chance to align it — being able to practice it a few times was fantastic. It does cool down very quickly but once I realized that you can basically just mold with your fingers instead of needing to bite down super hard, the fact that it hardened pretty quickly was a feature and not a bug. I can see that this would be much harder to do for a child. However, as an adult who has had dozens of mouthguards over the years, I am positive it is still easier than any other option. I am actually angry I didn’t try this brand sooner. I always put off buying new mouthguards until mine are falling apart and probably dangerous because I hate the process so much, but I am already going to buy another one of these to have a travel one or backup ready to go at all times. The price is reasonable, too! It also feels really good in my mouth. No sharp ridges or pressure anywhere. I used it last night and my jaw was more relaxed than it has ever been. Other mouthguards have always made me feel like I am actually clenching more because they are usually bulkier and I can’t hold my mouth normally. I didn’t need to massage my face this morning like I normally do to release all the tension! I got it in white, which feels less embarrassing than a colored one. I can talk a lot better with this one than others I have used, so I feel less self conscious wearing it around my partner. It is still silly looking but I already look ridiculous since I wear a CPAP and sleep headphones. Being an adult who would rather get good sleep than look attractive is awesome! I am going to buy another one that is full sized to see if I have a preference, but this one seems to cover everything I need and didn’t make me feel like gagging when I molded it, so I am glad I tried this size first.

I bought two of these for my 18 year old daughter. We just got around to forming it and it would not form at all. We followed and even extended the times and temps in directions in an attempt to get it to form. It would never hold form and just went back. Terrible. Do not waste your money. What a waste.

The night guard seemed to mold well however this is our third time molding it with my five-year-old, almost 6-year-old and no matter what we do we always seem to have this arch in the underside that catches his tongue. He said it hurts his tongue and it does not create a good suction like it says in the instructions. For that we gave it three stars instead of five. Otherwise everything was as it seemed in the instruction manual. It tells it like it is. It does exactly what it says or does. I think that it’s just more difficult to form on another person in general, especially a child. We will be getting a professional one from our dentist. It can be remolded, which is great, however, this arch in the underside keeps occurring even with me holding my finger there while hardening 😔

I had braces for 6 years in the 1970's and 1980's, and I can tell you, they were never as sadistic as these modern ones. I think someone figured out that orthodontists could save 40 minutes of installation time or something with these clips-closed ones with sharp edges and hooks hanging off them -- thereby leaving you with razors in your mouth for months or years. I can't believe kids get tortured like this -- I guess because nobody knows it didn't use to be this way. I wish someone would start Tik Toks and Instagrams and an advocacy campaign to make change and get alternatives. (Maybe you?) Nobody, kids or adults, should have to put up with this. But in the meantime, if you have this torture system in your mouth already, I hope this helps. I’ve been trying everything I could think of since I got my torture instruments a few weeks ago. Before I found these, the best thing for protection had been 1/2" by 1/8" weatherstripping placed down into the gum until it bumps into the offending brackets and keeps the lips clear of them (but it's probably toxic...), or nontoxic Gecko or Alcolin sticky putty cut into strips (but it's a bit gross, pulling that stuff out to have a meal…). On a hunch I tried stretching and cutting these to make a cover. I figured it didn’t have to be glamorous to start with, even something for wearing at home would help. I’m an adult but with a small mouth, so I tried a Junior on the bottom and a full-adult size one on the top. It sort of worked. (See video.) This was just a first try-- doing it again, I think I'd try not to leave those gaps in the purple part, just for better looks. It's best to heat the water a little hotter than the instructions say -- the other reviewers are right. I used a silicone spatula to fish the thing out with, and that worked well. Don't stress too much about the molding-- you really can just drop it back in the (reheated) water and do it again. When you want to cut it, let it cool off just a little bit but not all the way, and it’s easy. Basically, what you’re doing here is using their not-very-expensive nontoxic material and hacking it (cutting it) for the use we want. This seems pretty promising so far! I’ve had it in for an hour or so, and it’s nice to know it can be re-molded and cut. But if it doesn’t look like it’ll work out for you, the other thing I'm hoping may work out is the "Liprotek Lip Protector For Woodwind Players" (which looks like it can be stretched a little thinner or clearer— it hasn’t arrived yet— but you'd have to buy probably four to do the job, so it costs more), or "Faxx Lip Protector" (but that one looks like kind of hard plastic, so it may be pokey on the ends like those cheap braces-protector strips they sell). If you get creative and come up with an even better variation on this or figure out the best places to cut it, please post it! I bought this because it looked like the best of the options available to use for my 6 year old— I was wrong!!! The instructions were easy to follow…but after removed from hit water, the thing hardens as I’m trying to fit it to my child’s teeth. I tried 4 times. It says you can restart by placing in back in the hot water, which I did repeatedly …also the instructions say, once it’s on your teeth, close your mouth, stick your tongue to the roof of your mouth and suck air in. Are you kidding?? there is not enough time to do all that before it hardens, I can barely get in the child’s mouth before it hardens. Obviously I’m irate. I gave it two stars instead of 1 because I know it’s probably my error. But I’m doing all the work…why am I paying for this?

Was kind of a pain to mold it did not fit correctly after multiple tries, just keeps falling out and would not feel confident that it would hold up overtime

I love these night guards, and this size makes it even better for me. I’m an adult with a small mouth, so this size makes it perfect For me.

Franchement mieux que la gouttière du dentiste, qui faisait mal a mes dents Enfin je dors bien. Ne prends pas 100% la forme derrière, je n'arrivais pas mais ce n'est pas très grave, l'essentiel que ca reste dans la bouche, cest léger, ne pressionne pas les dents, ne fait pas mal aux gencives. Je recommande.
