Great value for the money
I bought 3 of these cameras to put around my house for security, as well as to capture pictures of some of the wildlife in the neighborhood. I was looking for something with decent picture quality and night vision. Since I didn't want to run a power source everywhere, POE was a must. The overall hardware quality seems great. The unit feels solid and well-made. I like how the cable comes directly out of the bottom of the mount, so you'd just drill a hole and cover up the hole with the camera, never exposing the cable. My first attempt at using these cameras failed. I did a bit of digging, and it turned out the POE switch I bought wasn't fully 802.3af compatible, so the cameras never came on. I ended up instead buying the Ubiquiti Networks Unifi Switch 8-Port (Model US-8-150W) which works perfectly. The cameras powered up right away, and the switch supplies plenty of power. Each camera seems to take about 2 watts of power during normal use, and about 4 watts of power during night mode. One of the huge drawbacks of these devices is the software that comes with the device. You have to download the software from a URL, which is a RAR file you have to decompress, then find a ZIP file within there, unzip that, then run an installer. The program is pretty basic and finds the camera on the network, and lets you do some basic configuration such as change the IP address and ports. If you want to do anything else (including seeing the image), you have to connect to the camera over an HTTP interface that is basically one giant ActiveX control - that's right, an ActiveX control. This means the camera can only be really configured using old-school IE on a Windows machine. I really hope they update this (or provide other options) soon, as I'd imagine Microsoft will be making every effort to rid the world of legacy IE. If you can get past this, the configuration has a bunch of cool stuff. You can access more of the advanced network configuration, such as DHCP. You can change all sorts of camera settings. You can define privacy masks, setup alarms, manage users, etc.Luckily, apart from initial configuration, you don't need to be stuck with the out of the box software. I was able to get VLC connecting to the camera using the RTSP protocol and connecting to rtsp://<ip address>/cam1/mpeg4 (which was not documented anywhere, so I had to do a bunch of digging). Since RTSP works, I'm guessing all sorts of other camera and DVR software will work as well. The main stuff anyone cares about is pretty top notch. Great picture quality, night vision works, and the device seems sturdy and solid. For a $44 camera, I'm pretty happy. I'll probably buy a few more over the next year or so.

Affordable, Great Quality, Just What I Needed...
I've been a big fan of these cameras, mainly for the quality you are getting for the price... I own 7 (five 2MP and two 5MPs) I'm using the 2MP and 5MP bullet cameras with a Synology Diskstation. I wanted to provide around-the-house security without breaking the bank and these cameras accomplished that...I recently purchased the 5MP version for better quality when looking over my front yard. I've included screenshots of the 2MP vs 5MP, which you can clearly see the difference in the 5MP quality (rock pile, dirt, palm tree.. etc.). The setup is super easy and I configure some basic items thru the IP camera itself (Network, Resolution, Frame Rate, Shutter Speed, Exposure, Color Settings), but let my Synology handle the Motion Detection. I'd recommend you have a good software management system to keep your cameras in order. The two items that you should be aware of, with the 5MP compared to the 2MP:1. The Shutter Speed (Slow Shutter) likely will need some tweaking for your Nightvision (IR) to not be laggy. I've found that a Slow Shutter of 1/8 or 1/10 seems to work best without sacrificing too much night time quality.2. Additionally, keep in mind that with a wide-angle lens (even at 1080 resolution), that the edges may be a bit more blurry with the 5MP, but that is to be expected... you really only notice this when in Nightvision, not during the daytime... but again this is expected.---I've had really good response time from technical support... Even though you can tell it is a smaller operation, I've normally had responses within 24hrs and generally have any questions/issues resolved within a few emails. I'm a big fan of NOT getting left in the dark by the manufacturer after purchasing these. For what it is I have found very few negatives... these cameras are very reliable and sturdy. I have mine mounted under the eaves of my home and can easily attach to the eaves with 3 small pilot holes, the paint job has also held up (no rust or damage) to our Florida sun/rain).I also wanted to address some buyers concerns of these cameras 'talking back to China' or having something in the cameras which is offloading traffic to an outside source. I have ran packet captures on my network and have not seen any of these claims. If you are concerned about this due to something hidden during manufacturing, create a LAN > WAN firewall rule preventing your cameras (these cameras or any others) from getting out to the Internet.Needless to say, I highly recommend if you're looking for something that won't break the bank.PROS:- Price- Quality- Features (IR, Shutter/Color adjustments)- Reliability- Speed (boot-up and video feed)- Ease-of-Use- Tech SupportCONS:- IR (a little tricky to find a sweet spot for exposure)

Great budget camera
We need cameras in our barn to monitor our cows. This camera was a nice addition to the set and works well with Blue Iris. It's been running for over a month, and haven't had any problems with it yet! There are a few bummers about the camera, but overall, it's a great budget buy.Pros- good picture quality (this is configurable too)- comes with audio- easy to mount- cheap- night vision works wellCons- camera software uses activeX (but you can still configure it without it)- it comes with a static IP on the 192.168.1.X subnet, so I had to change our router settings to change the subnet to match the 192.168.0.X subnet of our network
