Do any of the metal pieces contain nickel?

Yes the one which is been imported from india is having metal pieces of nickel .

Where is this watch made/manufactured?

Most of the Timex watches are manufactured in the Philippines.

The Indiglo feature has failed but the culprit seems to be the winding pin perhaps not pressing or fitting. Any manufacturer advice on fix?

I would definitely contact Timex. This is my second Indigo watch & I had the first one more than 10 years. I wore it every day, frequently changing the colorful band. I dropped it on a tile floor & it broke. Instead of spending money to fix an old watch ((which I might still do) I took advantage ofAmazon’s great price & get a new one!

Is this a good watch for an 8year old?

Watch is appropriately 1 & 1/2 inches in diameter and band are great goes through two bars 2 inches apart and will adjust easily. If arm isn’t really small it might fit.
