This is a very nice speaker system i got these to go with my 6 ohm energy tower speakers as this was the only set i could find that was 6 ohm and for the price range i expected less but wow these are very well made very stylish and solid and sound amazing. Just a heads up the pwr sub is much larger then the picture makes it look its massive and very sexy with great full rich bass. the packaging of the product was top notch and with Prime i got them in 2 days. if your looking for stylish well made set of HT speakers with rocking pwr sub for budget price look no futher you will be pleased with this set.

Excellant sound !!!!
I purchased these speakers last year along with a SONY STR-DH750 receiver. Together the sound produced is magnificent. I listen mostly to classical music and these speakers produced a full range of orchestral sounds and wonderful clarity. When watching a movie or football game in surround sound I get the feeling of being in a theatre or stadium. Previously I used Jamo studio speakers and was worried that such a small speaker set would be unable to compare to what I was used to. Not for audiophiles, but a steal for ave. Joe on a budget
Since there is no review of these speakers anywhere on the internet I feel some added responsibility to put one up. I am no CNET, but here we go: The Good: They look high end with a high gloss piano-black finish. Surprisingly powerful for the size. Music sounds good.... not just for movies. The Bad: Closed boxes and the connections are push terminal, which seems kind of low end. I had trouble getting my large speaker wires into the terminal. The center speaker is a bit underwhelming, but blends well if the front speakers are close enough. The bottom line: If you want a great bang for your buck and are on a serious budget, then these are a deal. MSRP at 450 puts them up against "The Pioneer SP-PK21BS" and the "Engery Take Classic 5.1", which is some stiff competition in the budget space (probably why they lowered the price). I would not pay $450 for these speakers simply for the connections and being closed box. However at $225 (as of 12/31/2011) and with the Pioneer CNET choice speakers on back order these things start looking good. If $175 difference from the Energy Take Classic helps you convince your wife you need surround sound, then go for it. I have these connected to an Onkyo TX-SR607 and am replacing some Polk Monitor Series speakers. Out of the box I thought I would have to return these because of the size and quality of the connections. So I only setup the front and surround sound at first. Well, I was really impressed by the sound after playing about a half dozen songs from different genres. So I unboxed everything, sub and all, and then did Audyssey config. Watching TV was a bit getting use to because my Polks (just two speakers) do a great job filling the room. You really need to have these in surround mode to get the most of them. With only the front and center this system you do not feel engaged. It reminds me of the old says when sound came from the TV. However, once I get it into a surround sound mode it all comes together and sounds great. I put in Salt and Avatar and both sounded fantastic. If you have more money, then spend it and get top notch speakers. If I didn't feel guilty buying such things (instead of spending it on family) I would have dished out a few hundred more. However, for the price I cannot help being very satisfied. I'll probably incorporate my Polks and make this 7.1. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ UPDATE ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Well, I decided to return these after a week. The center channel just was not enough for me and I knew it would nag me. I dished out the extra 2 hundred for the Pioneer speakers, which CNET says are the best sounding speakers at $400. Well, I can't disagree. At low volume or a small room the Onkyo do sound good. However, the center speaker on the Pioneer blows me away. I cranked it up and there is no comparison. So I would have to lower these now to a 3.5, but I'll leave the starts at 4 since you cannot do half stars.

Excellent sound, quality , and value
Excellent sound, quality , and value. Couldn't be happier with this set. My only negative comment is the center channel is difficult to wall mount, with a flat screen mounted, because it is so large.

Very good hometheater speakes for guest, or second living-room
Sounds great. Good bass. Easy to connect. Great price. This is for guest rooms. In my own living room, I use much more larger speakers

Ok but nothing to writing to home about
after owning these for almost a year I have to say for what I payed for them they work good I am using a Tx -Sr 803 Onkyo so it seem a good fit well I did have a problem with some of the rear speaker did not work at all and was not hooked up inside and after taking them apart they where kind of disappointing speakers to say the less so I started to look for replacement after that now i'm using all Klipsch f 20 fronts a c20 center and s-20 s for sides makes a huge difference to say the lease as for the sub and fronts I still us them both fronts and sub are better quality and work great very happy with the sub very loud and keep up with the Klipsch speakers so I wont be replacing this one and for the fronts I use then as rear channels and work fine for this duty gives great high and sounds great in this job but more likely be replaced by klipsch too but for now they work fine so in a nut shell they ok for sound little muddy and had to turn up my amp high to hear voices good (for the old ) lol but if I had to buy again I would not just because I am replacing them after a year btw I am not autofile by no means just by going what I have that it happy shopping though

Great speakers for the price
Great speakers for the price. I am using a Sony 140/5.2 receiver and that is not quite enough power to drive them, but the sound quality is a dramatic improvement over my 12 year old Bose 5.1 system.

QUALITY! Good brand.
Great system, quality, clear sound and loud. They look sleek and are built with good materials. I have 3 in the front with my TV and 2 in the rear for surround sound on stands. While it comes with color-coated wires for easy set up, I chose to use a heavier gauge wire.

Good sized subwoofer, about 50% bigger than our old one. Good price, great product for a smaller living room or den
