Solid, Durable and light weight
This is the second of these units I have purchased. They are versatile and very adjustable. I use an 11 inch tablet and they both hold it perfectly.

Great Idea; Stay in Spec
On first test, this appears to be an excellent item that does exactly what it says it will do. I confess that I do not own a significantly-sized tablet or separate screen with which to use this mount. I actually tested it with my 6.5" phone and a heavy-duty borosilicate glass lid that weighs approximately 7 lbs. The mount was able to hold the lid even in a position perpendicular to the floor. Where it may not hold the weight for long is on the mike stand itself. I would not recommend exceeding the 5-lb limit unless the mike stand clamp can be supported by something like another clamp (such as on some pop filters) or an adjustment ring. That said, it might, with slight to significant risk, be able to support a laptop if mounted with the mike stand or other tubular structure parallel to the floor and everything else oriented vertically. Unfortunately, my phone will not work with this device if I wish to use it connected to the charger or other device. The round grips cover my charging port, preventing access. The arms are fixed V-shaped items that do not spread open further, either. These can be turned around, but they did not alleviate my issue. I would likely be forced to use a wireless charger setup, or else affix the phone to something larger that can then be held by the stand. I don't consider this issue to be a significant flaw, though--just simply a bad fit for my phone and then only if I want to keep it on the charger. The round grips are not suction cups; rather, devices go under the edges, and they must be placed at the corners as pictured for the best and most secure mounting. Placing along the sides will not work as well, even though they are rubber. The only things I would change are making the rubber parts height-adjustable, making the V-shaped arms capable of spreading, and reinforcing further to accommodate weights up to 10 lbs. Again, these are not flaws so much as things I would change if I could. If your specs fit those of this device, it should work very well. Lastly, about Gator, they offer a 3-year warranty on this item, so as long as you stay within specs, they've got your back. Years ago, I bought one of their universal fit cases for my electric 12-string guitar, and it is still in excellent shape. This mount is my second (or maybe third--IDR) Gator purchase, and at this point, I feel like they make good stuff; so, I will be considering what they offer for future purchases.

Provides me with a "3rd arm"
This tablet mount is the perfect solution for a problem which has been dogging me for years in my home studio.I’m basically a “one man band”. This involves recording every instrument for a given song one track at a time, then performing mix-down and mastering, all via DAW software (Digital Audio Workstation) running on my PC.As a single man operation, recording drums had always been a chore. Using my PC keyboard, it involved initiating recording, then dashing behind my drums to begin actually playing them. Of course, multiple takes are often required, so this needed to be repeated until I was satisfied with my performance. To solve this, I’ve simply attached this mount to a stand on the left side of my drums. Now, I can operate the DAW remotely via my tablet.A few of its great features:- Materials used are very rugged, with a padded all-metal clamp that mounts to the stand very securely.- The sliding mount system is the best design I've seen in a tablet holder, and accommodates many different sizes. Mine is 10”, and fits in with plenty of room to spare.- Besides the clamp wing-nut itself, there are two more which allow complete control of rotation and tilt, so you can position it exactly as you’d like. One of the included photos was snapped sitting behind my kit, which clarifies the jog I needed to take from my PC (in the background) to my drum throne. To the left, you can clearly see how conveniently this product positions my tablet, placing all DAW controls at my fingertips and eliminating the need to ever stand up until I’m done recording. The other photo illustrates the excellent rear clamping system of this product, as viewed from the side of my kit.Summary: This is a brilliantly designed, quality-made product, which has made my life in the studio infinitely easier. In my book, it’s without a doubt deserving of my highest recommendation, and well worth the price.

A Way to Mount your Smartphone
This tablet mount is promoted as a "stage and studio" accessory, according to the box it came in, but I chose it simply because it looked like it would be useful to me for holding my smartphone for photographs, video recordings, and video chats. I was hoping that the "Corner Grip System" meant it could be mounted on the edge of a desk or table, but the mounting works only on a tube, such as shown in my two accompanying photographs, where I mounted it on (1) a floor lamp post, and (2) my camera tripod. As the floor lamp photograph shows, I was able to mount my Android smartphone (measurements about 5.75" x 2.75") securely in the portrait orientation. When I rotated the holder 90 degrees (to landscape orientation) for the tripod shot, the smartphone remained reasonably secure because of the friction from its case, but I had to make sure to tighten the screws carefully. When I tried a landscape orientation in the most secure way, with the side grips above and below, I ran into some challenges. The side grips as pictured in my photographs were simply too far apart. When I swiveled one of the side grips, as suggested in the Product Description, they were still too far apart. When I swiveled both side grips, I could not quite open them far enough to slide in the smartphone in landscape orientation. But this was because my smartphone is in a case. It looks like it would fit if I removed the smartphone from its case, but I didn't feel like prying off my smartphone case to test this.Overall, the quality and construction seem fine, and I think the product matches its description. I would have liked for it to mount on the edge of a table, too, but the manufacturer makes no such claim and so I had no right to expect that. If we were allowed to give fractional stars, I'd say 4.6 stars. But that rounds to 5 stars.
