I love this book as there are some fabulous classical themes to play which are so satisfying and not too difficult for beginners. Nicely produced book too.

This is an excellent alto recorder book for the beginner. I have a number of books and this ranks as one of my favourites. It has all the great classics in a simplfied and easy to play format at grade 1-3 level as the authors suggest. The pieces come with a translation in a box of the musical notations listed e.g. 'adagio - slowly' or fact about the piece e.g. 'Tannhauser - an opera based on a German legend. There is also a glossary of musical terms in the back, descriptions of time signatures, note recognitions and a first rate fingering chart. Its well worth the money.
