Exalting Jesus in Luke (Christ-Centered Exposition Commentary)

It's weird to me that the author so often devotes page space as if non-Christians are reading this book. The stated purpose of the series (stated in literally every book in the series) is specifically for pastors and small group leaders. Why address the non-believer? It makes it so that each section isn't able to devote as much time to the nitty gritty of context and history like the rest of the series. I tune out some sections because there will be anywhere from 3 to 10 paragraphs per chapter that say "if you're not Christian, you should be one!" But I specifically chose this series because it dives into deep meaning without keeping it just superficial for a non-believer to read. It's literally a commentary series. How many commentaries, ever, stop to address non-believers? Doesn't make sense to me. Regardless, it still does have some good stuff in here.

This commentary is laid out well for preachers and teachers. It is deep enough to challenge mature Christians and easy to understand for new believers. It provides exactly what the teacher needs to prepare. I can't say enough good about the whole series.

My best friend and I used this to study together! I loved how he worded things and explained pieces that I either never understood, or would have never paid much attention too. He really breaks it down section by section.

I have loved all the Christ-centred commentaries . They've become my standard go-to for any book I preach through.

I ordered it brand new and the corners are all bent up. It is less than ideal. When you order something new, you expect there to be more care taken in the delivery process.
