I wanted to link an old TV and an old laptop to Bluetooth earbuds. So I have used the device in Transmitter mode only, and it has worked very well. Easy setup, good sound quality. The device is smaller than I thought (on the positive side), so it is quite inconspicuous, and the connection cords are just long enough.Last and least, I am not sure what Sheerness rating would mean for this product.

How nice is it to make your old TV or monitor connect to bluetooth headphones? So nice! Listening to the volume at the level of your choice without disrupting housemates is so nice! I have a old computer monitor connected to an old chromecast and this device connects to my TV's headphone port and then translates the sound to be my bluetooth headphones.Pros:- Can hear old tech on headphones!- Can control sound levels from said headphones- Has a screen to view which headphones you are connected to and what the status of the device is- Better UI than most other simple bluetooth connectors - most of which don't have any at all!Cons:- It is quite a simple device- You don't have a lot of control of what it think it's its doing and despite it saying "pairing" sometimes it takes quite a while to pair and often needs to be restarted or reset- Strangely, I found that putting the bluetooth headphones very, very close to the transmitter can help them locate each other, but really, it can be quite the process to get them to notice each other--> sticking with ONE bluetooth device and not switching back and forth between several (ie. whichever are currently charged) is a better plan because the devices find each other consistently and immediately--> make sure your bluetooth headset isn't trying to find another device, such as your computer or phone because if another device already paired you'll be waiting around forever. Turn off other bluetooth devices while pairing a multi-connected headset. Sounds obvious enough, but really, one can forget- Sometimes the audio sounds scratchy or distorted. I find if you simply turn on and off the tv the connection sets properly and the audio is fine--> very simple and basic UI --> wouldn't mind a few extra buttons or features to aid in pairing and searching- Some buttons are multifunctional and I would rather have more buttons than multifunctional ones that make things tricky and hard to select

I have a combination of wireless earbuds and wired headphones, so with the ability to Transmit or Receive I can use this device with either. As a transmitter I get very good range in my house, at least 25' and the signal only breaks up when I go outside and behind a brick wall that stifles the signal.As to latency, in transmit mode, because it has an analog audio input (by design and why it exists!), I don't believe it can utilize Bluetooth 5 A/V Sync (Audio Video sync), so there is a little more delay than the Bluetooth 5 limit (32 ms), but clearly less than BT 4 or earlier . For audio only this is no issue at all. For video it is quite tolerable (to me). If you want to 100% sync what you hear and see you need to use a player such as VLC where you can adjust the delay (+ or -).In summary I may get another one of these to keep in my audio accessory bag.I may update this with use in Receive Mode later.

I bought this tx/rx Bluetooth unit to use as a Bluetooth transmitter for my electronic piano so I could listen to the piano playing with my Bluetooth headphones. First of all I used an adapter to change the headphone port in the piano from 6.32 mm to the 3.3 mm needed for the unit. The unit was easy to assemble and paired easily with the headphones, but the sound was greatly attenuated and the was a lot of latency. I read in a review of the product that the attenuation might be due to the quality of the male to male audio cable that came with the unit. I bought a superior one, and still, there was no improvement, so I returned it.

All of these devices have terrible interfaces, but this one is no worse than others. The audio quality is great, and I wouldn't hesitate to use it for noninteractive audio like streaming music. But latency is pretty bad, from 0.5 to 1.0 seconds, so it's constantly out of sync with video and it's a big problem in realtime meetings.

The unit arrived promptly and worked fine, even though the packaging suffered shipping damage. The product is small enough to store in your headphones case, and includes all the cables you'll need. Decent sound quality and good battery life are the bonuses. The manual is a little confusing, but with experimentation, you should have no trouble using this device to listen to your TV through your bluetooth headphones, or send music from your smartphone to a non-bluetooth stereo sound system.

Once I understood how to use the unit it became easier every time I turned it on an paired with my BluetoothHeadphones I ordered with it. I like it very much once I knew how to pair it with my Bluetooth devices.I have no problems with the unit and am so glad I bought it and not the other device I was thinking about buying. I got this to use with my good old iPod Classic (which does not have built-in Bluetooth capability). The adaptor allows me to use my Bluetooth speaker so I am not always tethered to wired ear buds. The only drawback is that the "song advance" and "repeat" control (</>) on the adaptor does not function with the iPod. No biggie because the adapter is always only a few inches away from the iPod itself. Happy to be off the ear buds since I seem to always be catching the cord on something and ripping them out of my ears - and they are getting harder to come by now that Bluetooth is the prevalent standard. I am happy with the unit so far and recommend it.
