Installed in a 2001 GMC Sierra 2500 HD with an aftermarket radio. I had discovered that when the previous owner installed the radio, they just didn't hook up the antenna. This was super easy to install, once you get behind the radio, and works perfectly. There really isn't much worth listening to on FM radio these days, but at least now I have the option of reminding myself of that.

This antenna adapter worked exactly as it should. General motors has a weird size on their antenna plug so you need this adapter in order to install an aftermarket radio. It is very easy to install as it’s simply just plugs into both the new head unit and the factory antenna. I don’t believe the sound quality plays a part here as this is merely an adapter for radio reception. It does as it should. As for Sheerness, the adapter is well built and should last forever.

I purchased and used this product as part of an aftermarket radio installation in a 2005 Chevy Equinox replacing the factory radio (non external amp/non onstar). Below are all the parts purchased. I am a newbie and never had installed a din radio in a car before. I watched a couple youtube videos of another user performing a similar install on a 2006 model Equinox. I used butt connectors for all my wire connections. Using the below parts was as easy as matching colors!! All the wire connections were a one-for-one match from the radio harness to the Metra Harness. Including the wire work, it took me about an hour to completely perform the install. The only trick was running the bluetooth mic wire. I clipped it to the top of the driver side "A" post trim, and pulled out the foam door seal enough to run the wire into the dash below the steering wheel. By taking out 2 screws (one from shelf in dash under wheel and one from cover right above the trunk release) I was able to thread the mic wire to the radio installation area. I tested the CD and AM/FM radio, and am very pleased with the improvement over the stock radio. Setting the time was a breeze, as I feel the controls were very easy to learn.
