he MC-GG283 is often times referred to as the "inn keeper vacuum" because of it's on board tools and easy of use. With a crevice tool, dusting brush, and extension wand on board, this vacuum makes moving from carpet cleaning to hose usage a breeze. Featuring a metal handle and a metal cord hook, it's also extremely durable. Maitenance on this machine is also simple, as the bottom plate easily snaps off to allow quick and easy access to the brush roll and belt. This vacuum is used primarily in hotels, schools, restaurants, hospitals, small offices and often times a preferred choice for building service contractors.

Stick with the ultra pro
We tried some of the cheaper versions of the Panasonic commercial upright but we always come back to the ultra pro. All parts are available. They seem to hold up well. We use them as the backbone of our multi-building facility vacuum fleet and they seem to do about the best for the money. Probably not something I would want at home, simply because of the expense and style. I prefer my old Kenmore for home use. But for a very large carpeted facility with need to run vacuums daily for hours at a time, this one seems to hold up pretty well.

This is a very nice and rugged vacuum
This is a very nice and rugged vacuum. It is not too loud either which my dog likes! Very easy to get spare parts too. I use is mainly for carpets.

Easy to work on if we have to replace a ...
I own a cleaning co. and have 15 or so MC GG 283 Ultra-Pros. Easy to work on if we have to replace a belt or a beater brush no tools needed. It's a good strong vacuum. I have been using Panasonic vacuums for 34 years now, my first ones were the 5510's.

Nothing Special
I purchased this vacuum because I wanted something better quality for my house that had an attached hose to do corners and cobwebs. The biggest problem is that the hose is very stiff and each time you use it the vacuum falls over. You have to hold on to the vacuum and hose at the same time. So if you are considering this vacuum because of the hose forget it. The other big problem is wrapping the cord when you are done vacuuming. All better vacuums have an upper hook and a lower hook so you can just loop the cord around. This only has the upper hook which makes wrapping the cord back on a chore. It is light weight and easy to push around. It also does not take up much closet room. However, unless this vacuum has an exeptionally long life span it is not worth the money. I would not buy again.
