Won't hold it's tension
I bought one of these as the result of many online reviews. Thing to remember about online reviews, they only review products they're trying to market. I was excited about getting and using the Stonfo because I had been using the one from a beginners kit for a few years and I'm upgrading my tying game. The first night I used this, the tension knob would not hold it's tension. No matter what I did it won't hold it's tension. There is a lock nut in the tension knob. With the thread bobbins we have here, the lock nut does not engage the screw and as such, the knob will never hold it's tension. Maybe in Italy or other places in the world this bobbin holder will work great but not here for the common bobbins we get here in the US.I went in to our local fly shop and was talking to the proprietor there about bobbin holders. He showed me the Tiemco which is a$30 ceramic tube variation of the elcheapo I have and wish to upgrade. Seriously, I thought? He said, this is all I use. What about changing the tension? It's in the grip, he said. Reluctantly I purchased the Tiemco. That, was the best decision I made that day.I don't want to say the Stonfo is junk because it is done with the famous Italian style. But in it's current state, it is junk for the bobbins we get here. I would not ever purchase another one while I would purchase more of the Tiemco which will work for any bobbin. I am not the only one with this experience. I'm not clear why so many people like theirs because it simply doesn't work right. Perhaps it is like many things, they paid a high price, it looks good, they don't know better and of course they spent a lot of money on it so it must be the very best. Besides all of the marketing reviews say it the best. Newsflash, it isn't.

I should have bought a Rite
I was impressed with the add hype but found that it is no easier to thread than the Rite bobbins. I have trouble with the tension knob unscrewing. I loose tension at very inconvenient times. Perhaps it is the way that I hold the tool but I don't have that problem with my Rite bobbins.

The best tension ajusting fly tying bobbin for the price
This bobbin is easy to thread, very sturdy, fits well in your hand, and is simple to change thread. The drag is easy to adjust and really works with very little effort. The ceramic barrel is well designed and is protected by the stainless steel barrel. By far is the best adjustable bobbin I have tried.

will say they are hard to thread SMALL TUBE and the ceramic tip was missing so it cut the thread very frustrating till I realized why and returned it

10/10 Bobbin
A pricey bobbin but you get what you pay for, Stonfo quality precision tool. One thing to point out is the tension knob is numbered to help dial it in perfectly. A really nice touch.

The adjustability is awesome
I won't go back to an unadjustable bobbin after using this model. Saves a lot of aggravation. Well made and affordable.

It fits
I have numerous bobbins but my Stonfo Elite Drag Bobbin is my favorite. The drag is the easiest to manipulate that I’ve found. It just feels good in my hand.

Great!
Awesome bobbins, my only complaint is that it's fairly easy to accidentally.rotate the tension knob with your palm when kack handing a wrap.
