Good beginner quality chuck. I’d rated this as on the higher end of Chinese made products. Seems like good steel was used. The gears are not as smooth working as some higher end chucks but they get the job done. Considering the price of higher quality chucks, you cannot beat this one for value received.

Nice heavy duty piece

I have many expensive wood chucks and have found these to be of good quality, durability and the price point is amazing. I have installed these on my studio’s Craftsman lathes. There is a reason why they sell out quickly.

This is the first time using these devices being a beginner. And it was simple to setup and use. Well worth the money

It works alright, but trying to clamp something into the chuck and then crank down on the two handles is not very conducive for working. It is really beefy though and holds up well, it has dropped on the floor a couple of times and has shown no signs of wear and tear. I love how it can clamp on the outside and then from the inside as well. Still like I said, the biggest detractor for me, is having to use two hands to try and clamp down a piece, which is why I am returning this for one that allows single hand operation.
