Illustrations help tell the story.
Well illustrated, informative, and my daughter loved how the pictures tied to the message. One of those great books that kids love reading because they are fun, but are educational at the same time.

An entertaining and educational look at the Kiwi with wonderful illustration
Kiwi Simile is a nicely illustrated 28 page book in an 8" x 10" format.I thoroughly enjoyed reading Kiwi Simile. The illustrations, done by the author, are whimsical and pertinent to the narrative on each page. Readers and particularly children will certainly enjoy the illustrations as they are very entertaining.Although the narrative is quite dry and more often than not reads like an encyclopedia, the illustrations more than make up for the rather academic treatment of the subject. For the animal loving child and the inquisitive adult, Kiwi Simile should leave you smiling. I also like that the book ends with a page of resources for further study of Kiwi should a person's curiosity be piqued by the book.A complimentary paperback copy of Kiwi Simile was sent to me by the Author so I could review it.

Beautiful illustrations and lots of interesting facts
The author provided a copy of her book for this review. This colorful book is short, only 20 illustrated pages out of the full 28, but the illustrations are very well done. Very colorful and artistically pleasing. They serve to make the facts presented memorable. There are lots of interesting facts about this unusual bird and the overall tone is rather humorous. Some of the text is challenging, do you know the word "Capoeira?" (I doubt many children will and many adults might not.) Still, most of the text is accessible and this would be a good book for an adult to read with a child. The facts presented are fascinating and will hold ones interest to the end. There's a lot to learn about the kiwi and most of it I did not know. This would be a great bedtime book for any youngster.
