My 6 year old really wanted lip gloss for Christmas. She's also super crafty, so I thought this would be a great combo - you get to actually make your own! Overall she loved the creating part, but didn't actually like the gloss once it was finished (she said she didn't like the smell).The craft itself is pretty easy, though could potentially be a bit messy. Might be a good idea to do it over a plastic trash bag laid out flat.The lip gloss portion of the set comes with clear goo (the gloss), tinting colors, glittery sparkles, and scented oils. You put a small amount of clear goo into a little cup (we used medicine cups), then mix in all the color, sparkles and scent you want. Then use the little stirrer to transfer it into the popsicle container. The container snaps open/shut and holds all your gloss!The container portion comes with 5 colored popsicle shaped containers, chains (so you can attach them to a backpack or a key ring), and stickers to decorate the outside of the container. Each one actually holds quite a bit of gloss. And you can individually decorate the with the tons of stickers that are included.My daughter had a blast making these. She just didn't enjoy the scent/taste at the end. Maybe next time we'll do this w/o adding that portion. These are super cute and would make great gifts or a great birthday/slumber party activity! There's enough goo to do this craft several different times. Highly recommend!!

Bought this for my 6 year grand daughter. She loved it! I helped by scooping out the right amount of gloss base but she did the rest.My suggestions:1) Have lots of paper towels or napkins on hand to clean up hands and mixing container/spatula as well as wiping sides of popsicle container after filling.2) Toothpicks are good to help get the mixed gloss off the spatula and into the container and to level out the filling once inside the container.3) Put stickers on container top BEFORE mixing up gloss when hands are clean and dry. Since you have to handle the container tops to put the stickers on, once she had gloss on her hands from mixing (even a tiny amount), it would get on the rubber tops and then the stickers didn't stick well.Otherwise, love it!

Bought this for my 9 yr old niece. Of course she wanted help making the lip gloss, but it was definitely user-friendly for kids her age. It was easy to mix colors, and she really liked being able to put in lots of glitter! It also really did smell sweet and had a sweet taste.Cons would be (in her opinion) that the spatula provided made it a little difficult to get the gloss cleanly into the little containers. She also mentioned that there were only enough stickers for the front of each little container and she wanted them to match on both sides. She was legit bummed about that. I could see that mattering to a 9 year old. Might not matter to your 9 year old, though. All in all a really good product especially since it could excite a kid who seems like she has pretty much everything:-)

We've bought this twice for a couple of my 9 y/.o dgtr's friends birthdays. They were excited about them when they opened them and the price point is just right for gifting. We haven't had any feedback on how well they actually worked, however, in my opinion, with any of these type of kits for kids, it is more of an activity verses them actually turning out 100% quality.

Six year-old enjoyed the craft project and final results. The product could be better, particularly better smell. If the product had a nice smell and flavor it would be a big hit and well worth it. As it is, I wouldn't buy another one unless another kid REALLY wanted it. I'd try to steer towards another craft project kit unless your kid REALLY REALLY wants it, just set clear expectation and you'll both probably like it.

My daughter loves this set. It is the perfect level craft for an 8 year old. Once I helped her one time, she is able to do it all on her own. The popsicle containers are so cute. There’s plenty of supplies to make more gloss to refill or we may buy some other little containers too.

My 5 year old daughter got this as a gift & loved it. We have also given it as a birthday gift to her friends and it's always a hit. It does require a little supervision and is a bit messy (as I expected). All in all, it was good for about 1-2 lip gloss making sessions and we tossed the left overall gloss, but she had a ball with it!

My daughter loves this little kit. We have gone through two sets now, and she still loves the little lip balm keychains. She enjoys decorating the little popsicle containers and mixing up the balms. At 5, she still needs some supervision as I am not into cleaning up explosions of glitter and scented food coloring, but she was able to do most of the creating on her own. The only negative is that it is quite a messy process and the scents are nearly indistinguishable from one another, with the most prominent scent being banana. I would far prefer a citrus scent, but my daughter does not seem to mind.
