All you need in one device.
There are so many things to like about the products but here are the main highlights for me.Great quality and very intuitive UI. I also like the fact that the app is constantly getting new features added.I love how easy it was to add a new race track (the device already has an impressive number of pre-loaded tracks but being able to add custom tracks fast and easy is a huge plus). I am impressed with the accuracy as I compared the results and they are very consistent. The display is very easy to read at a glance. I am not huge into drag times but I tested that function as well and I was impressed with the predictive function. Some of the other positives:-Compact and easy to store-Great Battery life-Easy to use-It takes no time to move it from one car to the nextI can't wait for more track days so I can use it and improve my results.

RaceBox Performance Data Recorder is a must for the track!
The RaceBox lap timer is an excellent tool for improving your race performance! The interfaces are intuitive, the information provided is useful in identifying current performance and areas for improvement. The gps location is very accurate. The number of race tracks supported is exceptional and, as noted above, is very accurate. The unit detected the difference between entering the track via the blend area vs. actually being on the track. The recorded lap times were nearly identical to those from the official transponder. The customer support is outstanding. We had a few questions about the data from our most recent race. The questions were answered quickly and accurately. The staff even mentioned that they will be doing a firm-ware update to improve performance in one of the areas we questions.Overall, we could not be happier with this unit. It offers true value based on its features, accuracy and cost.

Good product, poor mobile app.
The product is indeed very very good, but the app needs some development. I was looking for notes for each sessions and be able to remove selected session not all of them. It would be very good to be able to have these to functions. Other than that pretty impressive. As a whole, the product and the app, I am dropping a 4.

Revising a previous review
I previously gave this a two star rating based on issues with the app which is important for future upgrades and capabilities for the unit. After providing details of my issue, the RaceBox team got back to me and asked me to verify a fix they made to address the issue in a beta release of the app. I got another unit and the app did connect to the unit. That weekend I had an opportunity to use the unit on track. It performed outstanding. The team added the track I was on a day after I requested it. The GPS was rock solid and accurate to within 8 inches. The output of the device while driving is very good and it gives great feedback for each lap to include letting you know you're running your best lap/segment for each session. The data captured by the device and ability to compare laps is very useful and accurate. The data files of your session can be uploaded to their cloud server and downloaded in file formats that are compatible with rendering software. I was easily able to sync my GoPro video with the data files. Only glitch was that the in car display showed speed in KPH not MPH. Figured that out when I was looking at 200 in the speed box on a back straight...I wish. The team indicated they are working on a fix for that but the data did properly record speed in MPH. I'm really looking forward to exploring some other capabilities of the unit next year. I can't say enough about the customer service from these folks. It was a 10. If your looking for something that can accurately record your session and lap times independent from various apps that run off your smart phone, then this is it. Would definitely recommend it.

Bought for my m5 f90 not working cannot send item back for repair, no help.
Cannot get any kind of customer support. Device not turning on. After returning the unit back in two days on Amazon, they told me it will take 30 days to process return. Don’t get caught up purchasing from this company.

Awesome user friendly interface and accessibility
I absolutely love this thing. You can create open tracks (sprints) for autox or track x events that have separate start/finish locations, AND you can create your own circuit tracks for closed courses that have the same start/finish line. You can create these anywhere in the world, even in your own city/neighborhoods etc! Its so awesome and will definitely help me improve my times/driving with autox.Right now, the only way to create a custom open course is by using the racebox pro app on you smartphone. But its super easy and intuitive to use.All of the serious amateur racers up to professionals have some sort of timing system in their cars with which to use to analyze their driving and get faster at the end of the day....so get one!The only downside is the the suction cup....kinda sucks and is a little flimsy when not in use but it hooks up just fine. Will probably replace with a different one in the future if this one ever craps out but for now gets the job done well.

You gotta have it if you’re into those car gadgets
I received my RaceBox a little over a week ago. It came 2 weeks earlier than the scheduled time so that was a really nice surprise. It was charged out of the box so I could start playing with it right away. The menu took me maybe 5 minutes or less to get familiar with as well as navigating the buttons: up/down, left/right. The display is really bright even in mid day with the sun out I had to tone it down a little bit because it was too much. I haven’t hooked up the external antenna yet but I don’t think I’ll need to. The device would connect to at least 16 satellites right away and the signal is great. So far I’ve been having a lot of fun with it, timing myself just in straight line as I haven’t had the chance to take it to the track yet. I’m looking forward to the APP release where we’ll be able to time ourself and make a video with overlay on it which would be super cool. I guess the only downside so far is that I can see myself going thru tires a lot more often because I launch myself way more with it haha. Overall so far I’m super happy and I’m looking forward to what RaceBox will come out with next.
