Aquascape 75005 Pond Air Replacement Aeration Disc (Quantity 1)

Great - Great product. Have used these in our pond for several years. By the end of the year they are covered with algae but clean up nicely and work well the next season. Have used them for 3 seasons. Just ordered this replacement pod to have on hand in case one of the employed units should fail. I can't afford to be without them. They are a great product and the perfect solution for aerating our pond.

Other reviewers have mildly complained that the discs are not heavy enough to lie flat on the bottom of the pond without flipping over, which I will confirm from my own use of this product. However, I have used this Aquascape product and compatible aeration pump for at least 10 years, and have found it to be very satisfactory for aerating my ponds (2000 gallons and 1500 gallon). Even when the discs flip over, they still aerate the water. The price is reasonable compared to other pump systems; the discs are a vast improvement over the aeration balls which were the original product instead of the discs; and they do the job of keeping the oxygen levels in the water appropriate for the Koi, particularly in warmer weather. I had a disaster in one of my ponds 10 years ago when the heat reached over 108 degrees on six consecutive days, and I did not have an aeration system in place at that time, and I lost many beautiful Koi as a result. For serious Koi hobbyists, protect your fish with an aeration system of some sort to avoid such unfortunate pond crises.

I have the Aquascape aeration kit that originally came with 2 for these aeration stones, and use it on small outdoor Koi pond in my backyard. I feel much better having extra air from these going into the water for when my pump and waterfall gets clogged up and slows to a trickle if not completely blocked. So this help give them backup oxygen, and for more energy on other days. Raccoons punctured my air lines so I had to pull my existing ones out, and while out, my dog got to one of the pond stones and chewed the connection off. So I am glad to see I can get an exact like kind replacement aeration disc easily. I can say it looks and works the same as a new disc that came with the kit at the beginning. My only gripe with these isn't about the replacement, but just what bugged me about the original disc. I have a hard time getting it to sink to the bottom of my pond. Sometimes it floats to the top. I had taken to tying rocks to it with twine to help hold it down. I think you have to remember to soak it in water before connecting it for hours first for it to work correctly. While replacing, it would have been nice if it came with some original tubing too. But I actually really like my thicker replacement tubing. However note that although the replacement tubing connected great to the aeration stone itself, I had to use some tape on the other end by the flow direction piece near the air pump, but would probably connect better directly to the pump. I found this to be compatible with 5/16 in OD / 3/16 in ID 20 foot line that worked great for this and much more durable.

This doesn't get clogged like others. It produced great air and is easy to replace
