Percolator review
Excellent and easy to use. Percolate 1-2 min longer than the instructions say.

Great product for amazing coffee
Truly the best coffee we’ve ever had. Super easy to use not bulky like a coffee maker so it doesn’t take up a lot of space and super easy to clean. It is sturdy but the silver doesn’t look as pretty after a few uses

Works Good But Has Flaws
First off, as others have said high heat will melt it and distort the metal since it is thin aluminum. It does work it does make a good cup of coffee, you can make it a strong or as light of coffee as you want depending on the brewing time. Quality is questionable, this can bend, dent and nick very easily. Watch the handle due to the build quality and the clear plastic piece, the plastic looks like it will melt easily with too high heat Tips for better brewing: The holes in the filter are too big. If you are grinding your own coffee use a medium grind. If you are using a finer grind or pre-ground finer grind like Kirkland Columbian, it will go through the holes and you will have grinds in your coffee. To avoid that, use a wraparound paper filter or reusable filter or like I did since I have a ton of basket filters, I punched holes in two filters and put the coffee between the filters.. Brewing, since my stove settings are Off, Low,1 through 9 and High, I heat the water on around 8 just until it just starts to percolate then reduce the temperature to between 2 and 3 for around 15 minutes. I then turn off the stove and let it sit for a few minutes. Brewing times are subjective to individual tastes. Too long it will be bitter due to overextraction and under extraction will result in watery coffee. For my taste I make it with 24 oz water to 6 tbsp coffee, 8 tbsp if I want it stronger. I will eventually replace it with a steel one.

Great , but ..
Great little coffee pot so far. I’ve read some of the other reviews, and I think some might not understand how it works. Here’s what I’ve found. Fill the water up to the first set of pickup holes (the holes that go out to the pour spout). I turn my heat on medium-high (electric range stove) until it starts to percolate ( you'll see the water coming up into the clear plastic ball on the lid ), then I adjust the heat lower to med-low and allow to percolate for 12-15 mins. I then turn the heat off and allow it to set for another 3-4 mins. (THE TRICK IS , YOU DONT WANT THE WATER TO BOIL!) I’ve found 3 & 1/2 tbsp to 4 tbsp makes a good pot of coffee , 5 gets a little to stout for me, but adjust to your preference. Things to remember. If you reduce the heat too much , it will stop percolating, but leaving it on high , you take a risk of burning the coffee and it tasting bitter. There truly isn’t , in my opinion , a better pot of coffee than percolated. Don’t use finely ground coffee. I’ve seen the reviews about the bottom burning out. I use mine on an electric range stove and so far it’s doing great , I can see where an open flame might damage This pot if it’s too hot. It’s made of fairly thin aluminum. It’s perfect for an electric range though. A gas range would prob work too if turned to low heat, but I haven’t tried it. Things to remember. Too much water , it won’t percolate. Too little water , it has trouble percolating and veil spill out. Too much heat is bad. Unlike drip coffee makers which send the water through the grounds one time , percolators send the water through the grounds as long as it’s percolating which makes a rich flavored coffee. It’s a little bit of work (not too much) , but very worth it. Once you find your perfect settings of heat, water and coffee amount , for this price , I don’t think you'll be disappointed, and it’s a breeze to make a delicious pot of coffee.

Ok coffee at best.
Updated: I have made several pots in it and it has has been seasoned. The holes in the basket leak coffee grounds into the pot so you must use a filter. I just cut a small hole in my small drip basket filters to fit onto the stem. I followed some suggestions in the reviews here. Some suggestions said to let the coffee percolate longer. This helped a lot. I now percolate for 17min on med. heat to start, then drop to med-low (4) on my electric burner once the perc. starts. Once done, turn the burner down to low and wait for the perc. to stop. You can keep the coffee warm like this until you are done drinking. I now get a good cup, but not a great cup. I just perc. water in it once in a while and see all the floaties. They may not be good for me. You really can not use this to just boil water for tea once in a while. It is a coffee pot and that is all it ever will be. The walls of the pot are very thin, like soda or beer can thin. This will eventually wear through and leak. I think I now have the best pot out of it that I can get, which is not for my taste. So, back it goes. I never had high hopes but I did try. I give it 3 stars for the fact that it can make a cup some people may like but not me. For camping, this would be perfect because you would not mind leaving it or if it gets stolen. Just not the quality I expect for my daily brew.

Pretty Cool and inexpensive
I had several reasons for buying this, Mainly, I bought this as a means of being able to Brew Coffee in the event my Power goes out, But, also Nostalgia, as a young kid in the 60's, this was the way my parents made coffee every day and lastly, I'd heard that a Peculator brews a 'Better' cup of Joe over our modern electric coffee makers since it circulates that coffee continuously over the coffee grinds, whereas the electric is basically just a once thru and you are done, and it uses less coffee doing it. I found the Pot to be easy use, more durable than my Glass Carafe Electric coffee maker and super easy to clean, The ONLY downsides I have found so far are that it is supposedly a 9 cup, not sure what 'They' consider a cup, but in the REAL World that translates into about 3 normal coffee mugs of coffee, the 'Other' downside and it's NOT really a downside, is it's not a "Set & Forget", it needs to be watched, especially once it starts brewing as it is possible to Burn the Coffee and or Boil the pot dry, both are extreme cases of sheer neglect, But it can easily happen in Our Modern Technical distracted world, So being attentive while making coffee is something that I suppose we'll ALL need to get use to again if you plan to use this. All in All, I don't pretend to be a Coffee snob, (Yet I can agree that SB's is HORRIBLE Coffee) BUT, I do drink a LOT of coffee, and while I find the Coffee does taste better than the Electric coffee maker, it's not that much to warrant declaring the Electric coffee maker obsolete and tossing it in the garbage. Currently I find myself using this on days when I want more Coffee, But don't want to make a whole New pot full, This fits the bill nicely. Besides, it's just cool and for less than $14 (As of this review), you can't go wrong. I may even end up 'Upgrading' to a Larger model someday, and besides the 'Fun' aspect of making coffee, it's peace of mind knowing if I lose power, where there's fire, whether the Grill, Fire-pit or camp stove, There'll be Coffee.
