Parametric Modeling with Autodesk Inventor 2016 Review: Holee Molee!!!!!!!! - Well folks I've been puttin off writin this review not because we don't like th book but because we been sa busy we hadn't had time ta use it! SDC has done it again offerin good tutorials and learning materials for autodesk products. And might I say that desertcart has one again hit another one outta the ball park for offering this here book! Now folks I've been doin CAD since right after it first came out and I sorta got inta AutoCAD by th backdoor. A few months ago we bought a SDC Auutocad book for our 17 year old. Holy S**T! He's as good as I am now in AutoCAD. I decided we needed ta learn 3D modelin and so I took up Inventor by getting this book. I couldn't a done better. Let me tell you how Mr. Shih has ordered these lessons. Now first off don't imagine yer gone be a effin expert in Inventor by goin through this book! Its for beginners in 3d modelin. Inventor has sa many features, I don't know how ya'd ever learn them all. All's I can say is if ya don't get some kinda tutorin yer gone be scratchin yer a## and pickin yer nose a lot before ya get any good at it. There's tons a tricks y'll learn later but if ya want a good intro ya can't go wrong here. Now how is th book set up? Well, first of all th book starts out tellin ya about the Inventor interface as is usual in one a these books. Then ya start makin some simple model and ya start extruding right away. Now, ain't that what it's about? In the meantime he shows ya some neat tricks but not sa many yer overwhelmed. Then at the end of th first chapter there's 6 drawin yer sposed ta make on yer own. Then in th next chapter he starts on a little bit a theory with Boolean operations. Now he doesn't load ya down with a pile a theory but there are some questions at th end of th chapter that if ya answer em will give ya a good understandin a the theory stuff. Now there is a chapter-long tutorial in each chapter that's supposed ta give ya th tools ta do th drawins at th end. Don't skim over these here tutorials. If any thing ya should do each tutorial two or three times. There's just that much good stuff in them. Another way ta study would be ta go over the tutorials in a quick way and then try th drawins. I've tried that and it's just much better ta spend lots a time in th tutorials. Now throughout th book he gives ya a combo a theory and practice that I think is great. Ya can skip th theory if ya want and just do th tutorials.. But folkz, what are ya, some kind a effin Murkan that can't wait ta finish what yer doin so ya can go do something else like, I don't know...watchin them nasty-ass Kardashians or lookin at cats on Youtube? Maybe that's why Murka ain't workin out sa well for ya, eh? Do some thangs with integrity!!! Expend some energy. Kick some a**!!! Any way, buy this book if ya want ta learn Inventor 2016. Its organized well and better than anything ya can find on teh interwebs! Review: Five Stars - Thanks a lot

Having finished this book I am going to try another one to see if it is any better.
Sorry but I cannot give as enthusiastic review as one of the other reviewers. I worked my way through the entire book without help. When you are a novice what is missing becomes more apparent than it does to an old Autocad hand. I know some 2 D Autocad but am no expert. What I found is that Mr. Shih has skipped some steps here and there when he is working through the step-by-step example in each chapter. Particularly weak is Constraints and Work Planes. I had to do hours of trial and error to figure some of this out by myself. An additional paragraph here and there would have done wonders. Another weakness was the chapter on Stress Analysis. Having finished this book I am going to try another one to see if it is any better.
