Fate Worlds: Worlds in Shadow

Got it for Camelot Trigger, found myself entrapped in No Exit
Before reading this I would have told you that Fate is too optimistic and simple to correctly do a a horror game properly. That the nature of the game and its mechanics wouldn't allow for such a setting to a high degree. Then I read No Exit, one of the settings in this book and I changed my mind completely! It isn't the pulse-pounding assertive horror found in a Lovecraftian inspired game. Rather, it is subtle, claustrophobic, confusing, and much more personal. Give the players an overall sense of wrongness, and the more they try to fight it the more hopeless and constricting it becomes. Now, to be clear, this book has an assortment of great settings in it, and No Exit is simply one of them. However, it stood out to me as the most eye-opening on how much Fate can really deliver on any genre, as well as a type of horror setting I've never really seen anywhere else. Court/Ship is another great creepy setting, and Camelot Trigger is one of the best action settings ever, on par with Masters of Umdaar. If any one of the six settings in the book seem to be your strong suit, then I recommend getting this.

Good, but not great
Seller:Bought it from Amazon. It came well packaged with no damage. It took nearly 1 week to arrive. Bought it for 13.55 + shipping.Product:Same quality, concept and execution as Fate Worlds: Worlds in Fire. Though I feel like the scenarios weren't on par with Worlds in Fire. No doubt some of them are interesting, but as far as the purpose of the Fate Worlds is, they didn't push the rules to another level. Most of them borrowed directly from the Core without any tweaking whatsoever. Still, if you have Worlds in Fire and spare 15 bucks, it's definitely a good buy. I recommend reading some more thorough reviews on drivethrurpg. Just to make sure you won't be spending vainly that 15 bucks.Do I regret buying? Not really, but it doesn't add to my asset as much as the previous ones.

A great tool to starting a game with friends without as much time devoted to game prep.

More Tools for the Fate Tool Box
The book is excellent and has some valuable content. When it come to Fate you really want to acquire as many different resources as possible.

Good idea generator.
Great set of ideas you can use in your games with a bit of modification. I love sculpting the rules for games so I think I could have come up with many of those listed here but I think this is a great resource for newer GMs.
