Nice Replacement Remote
This 21.1 IR/UHF Pro Dish remote has worked well with my VIP-722's (two of them). The instructions included with the remotes only addressed programming them to a TV. You are left on your own to figure out how to program them to a Dish receiver. The remote is well built, feels good in my hand and all the buttons are easy to push and very responsive. My Dish equipment is now more than 10 years old, and I've been living with the original remote for my primary TV1. That remote's buttons have always been really hard to push but in the last year or so, a few of them required pressing with all the strength I could muster with my thumb to record an input. It's really refreshing to have a remote I can now simply and easily press any button and expect an immediate response.Linking the new remote to my Samsung TV by following the included instructions was simple and accomplished using the third listed pairing number. Linking to the Dish receivers was a totally different story. Key things to remember are: 1) The 722 receiver has two TV outputs, TV1 and TV2. TV's are wired to one or the other. The "1" and "2" designations on the remote indicate which of these receiver outputs are controlled by the remote. This 21.1 remote has a reversible key to allow you to control TV1 or TV2 by removing the tab at the bottom of the remote and turning it to the desired number then reinserting it. I found it easier to remove after taking off the battery cover. Since I have two receivers and had a couple of original RF (UHF) remotes, I had to re-program the original remotes after linking these new ones. And, it took me several passes to figure out what I was looking at on the Dish receiver's system information page. I had always used an IR remote for TV1, so it wasn't apparent that I could program the new remote for UHF (see the small switch in the left side of the battery compartment). I was not able to link the remote without reassigning an index number (hold SAT button until all light up; with the SAT button blinking, on the remote push a number from 1 to 9 then # then REC). Then the designation for the "Primary Remote Address" (if programming TV1) in Dish system info screen will change from "IR" to "IR/UHF Pro Band A (or B)". If you don't need to change the index number, just holding the SAT button until it blinks then hitting REC and DONE should work.I'm very pleased with the remotes and learned something about how my Dish receivers are wired and TV's connected to them.

Functioning correctly, but instructions need improvements
No problem with the remote. Problem was with the instructions. I spent 3 hrs getting this remote to pair with my TV (and this is the 3rd DISH remote for that TV!). Finally resolved by live chat resolved it by changing '1' to '5' in the SYSTEM INFO for TV2 (bedroom). I am speaking of the first # that appears next to the SECONDARY REMOTE ... title on SYSTEM INFO. When I asked why that would fix the issue, the answer was "it depends". But operator was great at going right to the heart of the issue and being patient. Of the 3 paper items included with the remote that had directions on them, they were all slightly different from each other. Number one need in the instructions - they all need to state that BOTH TV1 (primary) and the other TV if you are setting up the remote for a non-TV1 television need to be on. Also TV1 needs DISH on before you ever get started.

Just touch the buttons....
I can't tell you how wonderful it is to once again be able to just touch a button and having it work correctly instead of having to smash it to death!! And Dishnet no longer will replace these remotes.I would have gladly taken the old one apart as I would have with any other 'normal' remote, cleaned the pad and restored it myself. But these remotes are oddly and complicated assembly. Had I taken it apart I might not have been able to get it back together again.

Replaced Room 2 remote.
Works great, follow enclosed instructions. It does not hurt to download pdf from the dish network either. Great value for a new remote, and came quickly. Battery is included. Buttons are simple.

"Buy New" is false.
Remote works fine. We purchased the "Buy New" option. But the remote received is not new. It's clean, but definitely not new. There are scuff marks on the bottom and you can pry marks in the plastic by the battery cover.

Remote heaven
The remote delivers. It was like having a brand new remote that my dish provider said wasn't available any longer. Came with batteries and it did all the functions. unfortunately it didn't control my tV, but not a deal breaker because I have a remote to go between streaming and dish that controls my TV.
