Had this for a few years, served me pretty well.
I mainly got this to run counterstrike. It ran csgo very well but cs2 is a bit more demanding. After upgrading the ram, the more demanding games run a lot smoother. Upgrading the ram is extremely easy so it’s not a big deal at all. It comes with 8 gigs of ram, I’d suggest adding 16 or even 32 if you want to play more demanding games. The laptop isn’t quiet when gaming, but it isn’t loud enough to hear while wearing a decent pair of headphones. The fans do its job because it stays relatively cool even with heavy gameplay. It’s definitely worth the price.

Great little laptop
I've had this up and running for a couple months, now, and I'm very happy with it. I wanted something I could use with the Quest 2 VR headset without breaking the bank, and this has worked out perfectly. Runs about 90+ percent of games on Oculus and Steam VR according to performance tests. Worked seamlessly with the Anker USB C cable. I haven't had a single hiccup of any kind with normal daily use and with VR. It comes loaded with HP's software for maintenance, driver updates, and warranty registration that really makes the whole process painless. The lighted keyboard has been very helpful. I highly recommend this laptop.

A solid unit
I got this HP laptop due to my old one was just getting out dated. I got an HP because I'm comfortable with them and didn't need to learn new quirks. I don't play a lot of games but this laptop does a nice job when I do. It has speed and versatility to get all tasks handled well for average users. Very easy to set up. It didn't come loaded with much bloatware. It looks good and the screen looks great. I may upgrade to 12 or 16 GB of RAM which looks to be easy. I love the lighted keypad, although I had to go into Bios and extend the timeout. The battery is probably the biggest issue with this laptop,[and probably most HPs], it just doesn't last very long. I even took pains to "break it in" per HP's suggestions, but still lacking. However I usually keep it plugged in so it's not an issue for me. Just be aware. All in all a nice, easy to use general use and light gaming laptop. Not inexpensive but serious gamers should probably look higher. For me it does well.

I Love This Computer- My Second HP Pavilion
This computer is a replacement for my primary main business computer. I now have a Gen 1 Intel HP Pavilion 17” notebook computer I am still using as my backup computer. I have not had a problem with it in the 10 years or so I have had it. I use my computers to produce construction schedules with Oracle products and with typical windows office programs. I also use Sketchup for 3D designing and then rendering of photorealistic images. I find the extra large screen and Nvidia graphics hardware a must. This is a great computer and I would recommend it to family and friends.

Not recommended for Serious VR gaming
A good laptop for gaming, but there are some games it has problems with and winds up having to restart again and again.

I LOVE this laptop
I honestly bought this for runescape but ive gotten into playing most games id play on console and then some on steam. I havent had trouble running anything not even my quest headset in pcvr with boneworks. The processor isnt recommended for boneworks but still works. This computer is a g in my book. I love it. Battrry sucks though lol.

Faulty Battery 🔋
Looks nice, back-lit keyboard easy to use. No touchscreen.I've only begun to use it, need to learn all new technology and the ability of the computer. Last laptop purchased 2011. Have to learn many different accessibility issues as all my data is now not necessarily only on my hard drive but uploaded to clouds. I do not like random software having access to my data, it's hard to tell exactly what data is being used without my knowledge.Box was definitely damaged in shipping. After opening the computer I fully charged the battery. After 3 days of not turning it on or even setting it up the battery still drained to about 70%. To my knowledge it should not use or drain battery when it is not being used and is turned off also was not connected to internet.UPDATE: Faulty battery, returnedVery disappointedBattery drained while computer completely shut off!!!!
