Do yourself a favour and buy one that has no temp control for less, or pay more to get a propper piec of equipment.This just heats up and when it reaches temp it switches off, but by the time it realizes it needs to switch on again the temperature has dropped so much it wont melt the solder.So you can solder for 5sec, then wait 2min so you can solder another 5sec. Of course at this point your work is a blob of semi melted metal and some loose wires...They give a box full of rubbish to make it look better value but the tweezers bend, the multimeter is innacurate, the wire strippers should be called wire mawlers and the rest i just threw in the bin after 2 hours of frustration with the iron.The case is fantastic though! I use it to store my £60 soldering iron that works perfectly :)

I picked this up mostly to back up the equipment I have now. Recently I was trying to fix my stereo and iron had failed. A short while after I noticed that my multimeter wasn't working at all. I decided to pick up some new ones, but while searching, I noticed quite a few of these kits on here, and was surprised at how well priced they were.I figured it's got everything basic you'd need for small jobs, and that's all I need right now. I though, pick this up, do what I need to do, and I'll spend some cash on some better stuff later on. This kit comes with a bag so I could just pop it in the loft and keep it as a backup. I was actually quite surprised at how well this stuff performed and I've decided just to use it as my primary for now. I'll eventually pick up some other gear but for now this is doing the trick nicely.If you've got the odd project, or your just looking to dabble (safely) then this kit does the job just fine!

Purchased this over some of the similar packages available on Amazon due to the fact it had a digital temperature read-out on the soldering iron. I saw this as a slight competitive advantage considering it was similarly priced to others.Unfortunately, the unit arrived broken and the soldering iron simply didn’t switch on. I had to return this item for refund and ended up purchasing a different kit with more reviews. Granted, it didn’t have a digital readout for the temperature, but at least it worked (and it was cheaper)!I can’t attest to my unit being a one-off or if they are generally defective but buyer beware.

I used this product to repair the psu for my computer. For little more than the cost of a standalone iron with no thermostatic control I have a variable temperature iron - whch minimises pad damage - with a surfeit of bits, solder, tweezers, wire stripper and cutter, a stand AND a perfectly adequate multimeter for occassional hobby use. All of this was well presented in a tough case. I dont know if all kits come with this but I also received an offer for a free gift and have chosen a glue gun with which to seal the PSU case - further enhancing the value of my purchase

I bought this for my husband, who was very pleased with the kit.He says it’s more of an electrical kit than just soldering- add a couple of screwdrivers into the bag and he’s got everything he needs for any electrical job.The compact multimeter is very handy and fits into a pocket when working.The solder sucker works well for de-soldering circuit boards.Good base/ holder while it heats.It comes with plenty wire, electrical tape, snips etc.He’s pleased!

My son has been doing a few DIY jobs for me. I was watching him scrabble about in his tool box for various items he needed for soldering and thought a compact soldering iron kit would be the perfect gift to him to show my appreciation for all his hard work.This one's great and he's delighted with it! It contains everything possibly needed all together in a sturdy zipped case.Excellent value for money!

This is a really good kit and good value for money. The kit comes with everything you'll need to start a soldering project.I've only used it the once to put a calculator kit together, but it heats up fast, and the stand is acceptable.The multi-meter doesn't come with batteries, so that's the only downside I've noticed so far.

Good quality kit. I had not soldered anything before, but everything I needed was here. The cutting pliers are surprisingly good quality and the soldering iron heats up quickly and is easily hot enough. The tweezers are also well made and all the odds and ends make this up to be value for money. The adjustable heat setting is very useful, and the stand for the iron is essential. All in all I am really pleased with this - I have no idea who Distianert are, but the packaging and info in the pack give the impression that they have good customer service. Recommended!!!
