Scotchgard 1023H Rug & Carpet Protector, 1 Can, 14-Ounce, Clear

This product is excellent, but its hard to find at regular stores. Usually you'll only see the Upholstery product at hardware and department stores (make sure you get the correct version of the product for your needs!) We have very light carpet, kids, cats that throw up, and a dog who gets really dirty feet, so I use it every time I clean our carpets. I have high traffic areas that kept getting stains every few weeks or months (depending on the season) with ScotchGard Carpet Protector they have now gone over a year without getting any stains. You have to make sure you apply it heavily and then manually work it into the fibers of the carpet and let it fully dry for the best results. Don't think you can just lightly spray it and have the same durability. The time is worth the effort because you won't have to clean stains again for a long time. A previous post mentioned that the current seller costs too much for shipping, but the alternative sellers all had higher shipping costs when I looked. I bought in bulk to reduce the overall percentage of the shipping costs, plus if you have a lot of carpet area, you need a lot of ScotchGard. The seller shipped the product quickly and it was well packaged to prevent accidental discharge. Pros: - Awesome carpet protection Cons: - Hard to find at local stores - You need a lot of it. (Saturate the carpet area and give it time to fully dry before you allow anyone to walk on it (I use painters floor covers to give it a day of drying time (its worth the hassle because it protects your carpet for so much longer than the lightly coated spray jobs done by some professional cleaning companies. I had to redo the cleaning and protection done by the last company we used because stains came back after they did their work).

Can’t go without it

I got this for a small white and green entryway rug (obviously a high-traffic area.) It seems to do an okay job at making the rug easier to clean day-to-day and keeping the white a bit whiter, but I think I may have to reapply soon and it's only been a month or so.

We bought two cans of this stuff to protect our new hallway runner and it hasn't disappointed. We recommend this for anyone who has pets and is looking to protect their rug/carpet.

I repurchased new synthetic rugs for my entryways as my older ones (only 4 months old and purchased in the summer months) started to look dirty. To clean them would cost more than just repurchasing new rugs so that’s what we did along with this Scotchgard rug protectant. I purchased these products during the fall (which my husband wasn’t happy with as he said these new rugs would look awful in a few days) and my white rugs still look white 4-5 months later. This was a great investment!

The description of this product states it repels liquid and stain blocker on the product online! However when I received my product no where on the can does it state it repels liquid! The can I received states it block stains! This is misrepresentation of a product description! I could have gotten larger cans for cheaper but I wanted the liquid repellent!

I have new hard floors and new area rugs, AND a new dog…. so I scotch guarded the rugs in the hopes they might not be wrecked if the dog has an accident. I actually didn’t really expect it to work, but to my amazement, it really has made it so that when something is in the rug, it does not leave a stain. I would pay almost anything for that!!!

This product doesn't allow anything to stick to our rug. Even dog hair won't stick, it just balls up, it's bizarre to see, but it makes cleaning easier. I dropped caramel on the rug, I picked it up with my fingers. Yeah, you read that right, I picked it up with my fingers. It stuck to my fingers just fine, but not the rug, or the furniture for that matter, but that's for the fabric protector review.

Took some time to come through. Was it an American product causing the delay in arriving. Wonderful to use. Should be well worth the wait in the protection of my new heavy footfall areas carpet.

It’s great although I thought when you spell something on the carpet it won’t get fun the carpet but I tried dripping some water on the carpet after applying two coats of it didn’t shield it from going through
