HW600 Parent (600LB Wire)

I have had more expensive hand winches, but none better than this one. In my application the “high gear” is more than strong enough, have not needed the “low gear” yet.Always get a winch rated higher than the most weight you expect it to pull. However, I suspect this one would pull significantly more than it is rated for. Not recommending that however!

My older trailer winch wore me out, as a senior citizen I needed a better winch to get my boat up on my trailer. This is not a two speed winch, but makes winching up my boat with either arm very easy. It can rust, but if you spray it down with WD40 it will my maintain it quality.

This winch works smoother without any problems than another brand I was using to raise the ladder going up to the loft in my storage building.

This is a well built 3500 lb winch! Works and installs well. I give it 5 stars on everything except the overall and the only reason it gets 4 on the overall is that it does not come with a thimble to protect the cable as it goes around the hook. Any time you wrap a cable around you must have a thimble or the cable will fray and break fairly quickly. A thimble is only a 50 cent part but absolutely necessary!

The winch had all the appearances of a solid, well made product.I was surprised there was no mounting hardware, and have always received mounting attachments on every other purchase, except this one. There wasn’t even a manual. Just a winch thrown into an unsealed box.While the winch appears brand new, the unboxing and expected missing items felt more like a renewed product.Still, great price for what I received.

PIECE OF JUNK, DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!Used it for the first time this spring. Handle stripped first time using it. After Jerry rigging the handle so we could continue, the winch wouldn’t lift (1000lbs). Then we added a couple more pullies for a 4 way mechanical advantage and it finally lifted but the winch didn’t hold and the project fell violently.If I could give negative stars I would.GARBAGE!

It was much stronger than I thought so that good. The cable is longer and stronger than a strap.

Seems like a good quality hand operated winch that would last a long time. Has reversible operation with a simple flip of the catch mechanism. Came with a cable that’s heavy enough and long enough for my use.
