Marco 48 Colored Pencils/Drawing Pencils for Sketch/Secret Garden Coloring Book with 48 Pen Pouch

I am brand new to coloring as an adult. These are the first colored pencils I have purchased besides crayola brand. When I received them I got a 47 count instead of a 48 count. That was a little disappointing. They were all sharp and in good condition. I like having a way to store the pencils that also allows them to be on display for easy visibility as well as easy access. I just received them yesterday, so all I have used them for so far is to make a color swatch. The pencils arrive in a box so it is up to you to put them in the holder. The color on the ends of the pencils seem to match well with the actual color, a few may be slightly off. There is a wide variety of colors. I think you can mix and blend to get a wider variety. I am over all pleased and excited to put these to use with my new hobby!

I bought this as a gift for my adult son. For the price for this ($30 when I bought it) was the best deal I could find for pencils/roll both, and still be 48 decent quality pencils. The pencils come sharpened, are good quality, and the variety and saturation of the colors is nice.If I had any cons it would be that the snap strap is a little strange because there seems to be an extra snap. I'm sure it's so you can configure it a different way, but I couldn't figure it out and it's not pictured. Also, I wish it had come with a sharpener, or an option to buy one with it. it has a space in the roll case to hold one, but it's pretty small. I ordered what looked small enough to fit (it was pretty standard), but it was too big.

I bought this set for my niece, who immediately took out the pencils and placed them in the pouch. It looks wonderful splayed out and rolled up, except that she had one extra pencil left when she was done. Not enough room in the pouch for all the pencils. Humph. It's like someone just placed the pencils and pouch into a set, but they weren't made for each other.

I love this set and being able to roll them in this carrier is the best! The pencils are very soft and easy to blend. It would be perfect if there was a place for a sharpener.

I purchased these for my daughter for Christmas who is taking art classes in high school. They came in a box, but luckily were all sharpened. She immediately took them out and put them in their slots. She told me they work much better than the colored pencils that I would buy her a big box stores, and she is looking forward to taking them to school with her next semester.

I love the pencils and the case, I am able to layer the colors to get the desired darkness without much pressure being required. Great assortment of pencils and case holds them securely and I am able to find the desired color quickly. The pencil hold a point nicely and sharpen just as nice.

They are pencils, and they are colored. They draw and erase to the standard of a normal pencil. They work perfectly fine and I'm happy with them. The case works exactly as it should, which is to say it holds the pencils and rolls up nicely for storage or transit.

It really is a superb additional hobby for me. It gets me to sit still for a while and I get to create stunning pictures that I couldn’t possibly draw or paint myself as I just don’t have that talent, but anyone can colour in, no matter how poor your artists skills. I just bought myself a couple of adult colouring books from here (my favourite is Enchanted Forest - an Inky Quest & Colouring Book), but you need this superb set of colouring pencils too!And they are superb! Not only did I get 48 of the best quality colouring pencils, but they also come complete with a premium quality roll case! Check out the picture of it, its wonderful! I just roll it out on the coffee table and I can select which coloured artists pencil I want and slip it out of its neat and secure little elastic holder. When I’m done, I slip it back inside. Everything stays neat and tidy, no pencils rolling about on the table top needlessly, no need for a pencil case (I have my other artists pencils in a pencil case and more in a separate box) and they are full protected from damaging the nice sharp points when folded protectively in their case.The 48-pencil set I was sent to review is brilliant. On arrival I found the 48-pencils neatly stored in their branded box and the roll packed empty. I made a cuppa and set about transferring my pencils from the box and into the case. I rather enjoyed it, that was relaxing in itself. It did take a good few minutes as there are 48 pencils and they all had to be pushed carefully under the little elastic holders in the case. So that the colours were all in order I moved them over one at a time and left them in colour order, as I’d noticed they were grouped carefully into colour sections in the box. The result was a perfectly displayed set of artists pencils in a superb roll holder that I can’t do anything but love, its perfect.The pencil roll elastics are superbly stitched on, not one loose bit of elastic, its so well crafted and its designed for taking those pencils in and out repeatedly. Really well made. The pencil roll is crafted from a good quality PU Leather and will really be the envy of your Art class if you take it along. When my hubby saw it, the first thing he said was ‘Can I have it’ he doesn’t even colour! It would make a smashing gift for anyone of any age who loves colouring or needs to find a relaxing new hobby that doesn’t cost the earth and can be enjoyed during the dark and gloomy winter months, as well as during the warmer part of the year.Most importantly, these pencils are non-toxic and therefore are totally safe for children to use. The wood used is also recycled wood and they’ve even crafted so professionally I challenge anyone to not love them! They are ergonomically designed to be so comfortable to hold and use and whilst being delightfully comfortable in the hand, they afford a good grip for detailed colouring/art work.The colours! Stunning range of colours!! There is even a Gold and a Silver in my 48-piece set. Can you believe there is a pure White too? I was so pleased to see those 3 particular colours in my set as non of my other artist pencil sets have those in. When I wanted to see how the white went over the black, I found how blendable the colours are. I wish I could draw like an artist, I would be able to create pure masterpieces with these pencils. If you can do that, I envy you! You’re gonna love this kit. Just roll it out and there is everything you need at your fingertips. When you’re done, roll it back up and close with the strong and sturdy press stud with a satisfying click. The press stud is premium quality too, not loose like some lesser quality press studs on some products. I have a thing about press studs closing properly. It was the first thing I tested on the pencil roll, that press stud.The roll strap that you fasten it closed with, also converts it to a hanging loop! So you can hang your pencil roll up if that is how you wish to display your pencils for easy selection.I simply love this and this roll added onto such premium quality pencils is just awesome. Had someone bought me this as a gift they would have had a huge kiss for this! I personally really love this kit. Makes me feel all artistic when I roll it out and I am really enjoying my colouring using it.I’ve only had to sharpen one of my pencils so far as I have coloured in a lot of that particular shade of brown. It sharpened perfectly, no breakage, even taking it to a very sharp point.The depth of colour, the intensity of colour, the shade-ability (is that a word? no idea, but it gets my point across I hope!) its all more than I could have hoped for.My favourite pencil kit by far. I'm so glad i held off buying some colouring pencils when i was in town. Although these where one of Amazons deal i would pay the normal price for them. Such an amazing set of colouring pencils, so impressed with them. I have been using stadelar ergosoft 24 pack which are good but these are in a different league. Highly recommend giving these pencils a go you will not be disappointed.

Would make a great gift, especially at the reduced price I bought them at. Fantastic quality pencils in beautiful colours. Will be ideal to take on holiday.

Ok for colouring books nice range of colours but personally I prefer softer pencils for layering and blending

A really nice pencil set (although two of the pencils were the same colour and number) the range is good and they colour nicely.
