R&F Handmade Paints Encaustic Gesso, 16-Ounce

Product is top quality and performs as described. Most R&F products are really good though not cheap. If you are serious about your art, you need to buy quality products so you won’t be “sadly surprised” by cut rate junk that could ruin your work.

I like how it glides on smoothly.

If you keep the jar closed tightly, this product has a long shelf life. I use a roller to apply to birchwood panels.

Jut a wanna-be encaustic artist, so figured having gesso on hand would be a wise thing to do. So far I have only used encaustic boards, so no gesso needed, but this should provide the capability of painting on wood and other surfaces. R&F is good quality!

It came as promised and all is good.

This works great. I have been able to use on materials that would normally not take encaustic waxes and it appears to work fine.

Works well, just takes a few hours to solidly dry before using. I usually prep my 'canvas' the night before, or two nights in a row, depending on the 'canvas'.

C'est le gesso pour la peinture au medium encaustique qu'il faut. Comme on ne peut utiliser de gesso acrylique pour ce type d'application, on n'a donc pas le choix. Il est facile à appliquer sur le bois, sèche assez vite et se ponce bien avant de recevoir le medium et la peinture.

This is really good quality encaustic gesso - it worked exactly as I thought it would. Encaustic painting, however, is really difficult and did not work as I expected.

Does what it says on the jar

The lid was not tightened so there was some leakage jnto the package.
