Games Workshop - Warhammer 40,000: Elite Edition Starter Set

I ordered this set for my son for Christmas as a starter set and forgot to write a review. The product was as described, arrived in perfect condition (box is used in play) and he has enjoyed building, painting and playing. Five stars is not enough for the fabulous customer service. I was getting anxious the gift was not going to arrive before Christmas, it had been dispatched but was a fail on the delivery side. I contacted the seller and the guys were amazing, they reassured me and said if it hadn’t arrived by x date, to message again and they’d despatch another one by courier. It didn’t come so they sent another one as promised to make sure it arrived before Christmas. The original one arrived a day or so later and I messaged them and they arranged courier collection for the return. Brilliant service removing all stress and just getting it sorted.

Out of the various "beginner" sets I would say this is my ideal balance of price and content. The more expensive set, in my opinion, doesn't offer sufficient value to a new player for the price, while the cheaper sets don't deliver enough units to start getting a handle on the game. The only downside is the lack of paints and tools included but thankfully the "paint and tools" starter kit is an excellent companion to this kit in terms of the colours provided.The smaller rule and law book is great as an introduction to the mechanics that builds up slowly to something still below a full game. But it's enough to give you taste of what to expect. I really like this kit and would recommend it to new people. If you're 100% certain you want to get into the hobby then maybe spring for the kit that comes with terrain as well but for the average person I'd say this is perfect.

Great purchase

Description says "only requiring clippers to assemble .. no glue, no mess" but does need glue for some assembly, and guide inside says to use glue. Put my build and paint session with Mt kids back a week, but otherwise brilliant kit.

Good for the price arrived pretty fast. Theres nothing wrong with it not even a dent on the box, altogether very nice product it will keep me painting for quite a bit👍🏻
