Get the book, read the book, and simplify your swing
I have played golf since childhood, and this was one of my first books I read when I was in High School. I recently started to teach my son to play, and bought the book again, as my first copy was lost in years of traveling. Sam Snead simplifies the swing into "keys" that you can use during practice or on the course. Too many (almost all) books are too confusing with today's "scientific" approach to the golf swing. Sam Snead taught him self, didn't have a golf coach follow him around, so he learned his swing. He self corrected his swing when something went wrong. To correct a swing during play on when you are in a slump involves concentrating on the fundamentals. Snead's "keys" are keys to help you get back to fundamentals. Golf is difficult, but this book helps to simplify the swing, and simplify your corrections. Do yourself a favor, buy the book, and when things go south, read it again.

Golf made simple
Got into this book immediately. Easy reading. When it got to the section on his 'keys' to the game I tried them out. My backswing is low and slow and has helped my game. His hand grip keys are good also. His strategy tips for 'on the course' play are good. Overall he has a simple approach to a tough game. Try some of his 'keys' and you will be convinced. Good book to have.

Sam's the Man!
Some great golfing ideas from one of the game's greatest. Some simple but powerful tips written in an easy, readable style. My Dad and I enjoyed using this book together many years ago, practicing in the back yard. The ideas are still good today.

Best book on the golf swing I've ever read
This book is not heavy into technical details on the golf swing (at all). But Snead's emphasis on the simple keys have transformed how I think about the golf swing today.

First rate instruction
I love the approach Snead took in this classic of golf instruction. All of the concepts are easy to understand. They are also practical. I wish modern day instructors would provide this sort of information.

COMMON SENSE and NATURAL GOLF by the "SMOOTHEST "ball manipulator ever .
"BIG SAM "was a naturally born golfer .Everyone knows or should know how he taught himself golf when a countryside boy by making golf clubs out of tree branches and hitting stones in a meadow ,until he was "discovered "by pure chance and recommended to the great Club Maker WILSON .No wonder this instruction book is full of common sense and no frills advice :Big SAM's swing was one of the most beautiful and elegant ever .His sense of rhythm was astounding .His motto to be in rythm was to swing "AS LOOSE AS A GOOSE". An entire chapter is devoted to the "TIMING "As a top performer ,with 134 tournaments won and 84 PGA victories ,he was one of the longest off the tee ,without showing any visible effort .Alas ,he was plagued early by the "Putting Yips "which robbed him of many more victories :he invented the "SIDESADLLE "Putting style which may help those unfortunate golfers with the same affliction .Even the best of golfers will benefit from reading this book through carefully :SAM makes the golf swing look so much easier than it is that you may be abused .Among other good common sense advice ,he shows how the common "myth"of the "X factor " invented by JIM MC LEAN is misleading:"Your hips and shoulders should coil in tandem ".A must read for the good and not so good golfers
