Intercession San Damiano Wall Wood Cross Crucifix (8 in)

Very beautiful, nice quality, and reasonably priced cross. I have it hanging on the wall near my work desk and really enjoy viewing it throughout the day.

I was looking for a crucifix that didn't look tacky. This is very Tastefully crafted with details including those who lied at his feet and other important details that I lack the knowledge to understand.

I have always wanted a San Damiano Crucifix and I ordered this one for a bare wall in my home. I like it very much and I am glad that I ordered it. It is not a huge Crucifix but one that is surely noticed due to the style and coloring of the piece. It was simple to hang.

Nice, but not what I expected. (I had previously purchased a smaller crucifix with the same icon which had a beautiful smooth finish over entire cross and the gold color on it shimmers(see photo with comparison)). This icon is beautiful, but the finish is very dull with a beige coloring(no gold, no shimmer). Icon was printed on paper, cut out, glued onto slightly larger cross shaped wood, then painted with a dull clearcoat.. There is also a small clump of something dark brown glued under the paper (see photo). I'm afraid to remove it because it might ruin the look. It is still nice, just not as high quality as I expected.

This is a beautiful crucifix but be aware that it is not 8 inches. It measured just under 7 1/2 inches. Despite that I do plan on buying the other styles available because I am very happy with the quality of this one.

My cross arrived today, a few days earlier than I expected, it was also well packed. The cross itself is lovely. It's light in weight and the printed design is accurately aligned and glued to the wooden backing. The printing is superb; clear and crisp, but the best of its features is that, like the original, the feel of the painting is so like the canvas the original St Damiano Cross was painted on. On the back is a 'keyhole' wall-hanging fixture and not the triangular loop as photographed - buyers take note. The size is perfect for my requirement - to build a small shrine to my beloved Patron Saint. The Saint Damiano cross was the cross St Francis prayed before and heard from it the instruction to "Rebuild my Church" which the saint took quite literally and single-handedly rebuilt the little derelict church which housed the cross. It was only later he realized that the heavenly instruction was directed at the Catholic Church which had fallen by the wayside. This he did founding his Franciscan Order and espousing Lady Poverty vowing to reject all earthly possessions and to follow Christ to the letter.
