Still have it , used it alot , really nice and have deep flavor notes , original. It’s good in curries and I even use it in my masala teas too .

Strong, fragrant black cardamom! Most pods fully intact, and all loaded with seeds. This is a staple spice in our kitchen. Like bay leaf, all it takes is one or two to enrich an entire meal. Black Cardamom is somewhere between anise-licorice with its smell, but the flavor is much brighter like citrus or tropical fruits. It is mainly used in savory dishes and pairs well with rice, green vegetables, and red meats. It’s relative green cardamom is generally the type available in powder form in the US, while black cardamom is mostly found in specialty Asian or upscale groceries and spice shops. Green cardamom is also (and maybe most frequently) used in sweet desserts and is considered one of the most expensive spices in the world.

These pods are the Chinese variety, this listing is a scam. Don't waste your money if you're looking for regular small Indian cardemom pods. these are 5 times the size and 1/10 of the flavor. wasted my money!

Long shipping but good value

I bought this to experiment with. The price is a bit steep, but I can't argue with the results. The flavor and aroma is deep, distinct, and pleasant. My favorite use so far is in slow-cooked rice pudding. Add 3-4 whole pods to the cold milk and let them swell and burst during cooking, then fish them out at the end.

I’m using Cardamom in lummur (Scandinavian pancakes), and not that knowledgeable as to how it should be. What I know: a year or so back, I first purchased this, in the hard-plastic container, same brand and same name (see picture). The pods were medium sized, tapered. A sharp rap with a stone and they would crack, easy to peel from there, the inner seeds were black and sticky, with a heady aroma. In a mortar and pestle they crumbled easily. The ones I purchased now, supposedly the same, were larger, near-round. The shells take serious hammering to crack, then with concerted prying finally open. The seeds inside are sandy-brown, large, and dry in appearance. Worked in the mortar and pestle, nothing happens; they’re basically unbreakable. Their smell is distinctly different, and muted. I gave up and chucked them. Chalking this one up to experience; will not be buying this brand again.
